The Korean Night Elf player reveals that he is still owed 7 months salary from his former clan sparking mixed reaction from the scene. A response from the SK management is made revealing that they are owed money themselves due to the current economic crisis which is making payments of any sort impossible.
Former SK-Gaming player Seong Deok “SoJu” Lee is first of an expected many players from the SK team with long overdue paychecks to go public. SoJu claims that he is owed salary, travel expenses and prize money.

In response, SK-Gamings’s Managing Director Alexander 'TheSlash' Mueller addressed the issue in a blog. Mueller claims SK is owed 10% of its 2008 budget which is making payment to the players very difficult. Muller also explains that unlike the current problems MYM is facing, SK is a more solid company and is far from collapse as it has been around much longer and plans to address payment issues as soon as possible.

In addition, Muller reveals a new “larger” sponsor lineup for 2009 which will be revealed in the next few weeks.
With the current worldwide economic crisis more and more teams are struggling to make ends meet and some are losing their leading sponsors such as mTw losing AMD. It is a shame when a talented player like SoJu has not been paid for such a long period especially after his recent performance at the WC3L finals in China. However this is the grim reality now and eSports will have to try to endure. This means both players and managers alike will have to try to get along together as best as they can to endure this phase and hope the economy can pick itself back up as soon as possible.
