World Elite claims Road of the King title

In a stunning final series, TED and Like made sure that the Chinese team could defeat SK-Gaming, winning with 5-4.

World Elite, especially their Undead player TED, had been shining all through the tournament, capping off wins over the whole MeetYourMakers team as well as defeating fnatic players as Space, FoCuS and MinHyuk. Going up against their former Korean team mates in the Grand Final, it was set to be an epic match.

The first point was given to SK-Gaming, as ReMinD took down Sky in the first match. But the table turned, and the blazing Undead TED ravaged on and defeated ReMinD, ReiGn and SK's stellar Orc player Lyn twice. In the lead 4-1, everything seemed to be going World Elite's way, and the Chinese team only had to defeat SoJu in order to claim the title.

It seemed for a while that TED would be able to give his team the victory by another spectacular all-kill, but the Night Elf player from SK-Gaming put up a hard fight and defeated China's new poster boy. A shed of hope was lit, and SoJu completely turned the tables, defeating World Elite's Human player Infi three times in a row, making the score sheet to print out 4-4.

On to the final game, where SoJu had the map choice he was placed against Like. Like did not have much of a success in Road of the King, but Like was able to eliminate SoJu and bring the victory home to World Elite.

This intense tournament over a four-day timespan did not only hand out a throng of top notch matches, but a total of $16,000 was handed out as well. World Elite was given $10,000, SK-Gaming earned $4,000 for the second prize while MeetYourMakers, who had defeated fnatic in the bronze match with 5-0, could go home with $2,000.
