FuRy and LiiLD.C in Swedish StarLeague playoff

Posted by Patrik "Raistlin" Hellstrand 2 years ago

Four semifinalists contend in the final phase of Gamingeye's WarCrafting StarLeague, where the PGS players are top favorites.

1,500 SEK (~157€) is up for grabs in WarCrafting StarLeague, one of the very few Swedish WarCraft 3 events available. The league has reached its playoff stage, where four finalists will battle it out in a double elimination playoff. This league could be the start of something big in the Swedish scene, according to FuRy.

- It could have been one, but it's the start of at least something, with the right people behind and with the right PR, says the semifinalist Sebastian "FuRy" Pesic who is up against Adam "Xine" Ljungkvist. FuRy feels pretty secure in the matchup, and is pretty satisfied with having Xine as an opponent.

- First off I like Undead versus Night Elf, and then I have a good record against Xine overall, says Pesic.

The other semi final is between LiiLD.C and Illumize. Playoffs are planned to take place this weekend.

#5 as #8 said, this is not EPS, this is just a league that a generous swedish guy did but ended up as a failure with several players dropping and basically only these 4 guys playing their matches.

#9 actually 6 players continued to play of 10 players, so 4 stopped playing when they had 0 chance of winning. 2 dropped out.

#12 oh it's not ending, I just need to redo the format a little because long leagues won't work in Sweden, but shorter leagues might :D

LoL we have the same prizes here in the romanian warcraft tourney (ACL) and Romania is far behind Sweden in terms of gaming... Or so I thought...

I think Xine is definitely capable of beating FuRy. FuRy is very overated...

Perhaps if FuRy doesn't show up for 2 hours and Xine is forced to play or get a loss despite FuRy being so late, and Xine has been unable to eat or anything before, they could play a game where Xine has it np, but messes up in the end and FuRy wins?

What do you think, Genie?
