The International E-Sports/Entertainment Festival will make a trip to Wuhan City, China to once again gather more than one hundred players from around the world. IEF 2012 will feature three gaming disciplines - StarCraft 2, WarCraft 3 and League of Legends - and a five figure prize pool.

Unlike WarCraft 3 which has been a regular discipline at the IEF for long years, this will be StarCraft 2's first time at the festival. The newest RTS of Blizzard will step in to take the empty spot left by Brood War, which will not be featured in this year's edition of the event. However, the KeSPA team SK Telecom T1 will be there to work as a promotional ambassador.

The prize distribution has not changed since last year when Moon won over Lyn to pouch the $10,000 and the money purse for SC2 and WC3 is as follows:

1st place: $10,000
2nd place: $5,000
3rd place: $2,000

Additionally, the League of Legends teams will battle for a total of $24,000, the winning team cashing $14,000.

The qualifications for IEF 2012 will run from July till the end of August, the national finals will be held in September and the grand final event is scheduled for November 2-4. The festival will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between South Korean and Wuhan City, China.
