BWC manager caught in match rigging scandal

Posted by Patrik "Raistlin" Hellstrand 1 month ago
The Russian Because We Care manager "Tpytehb" has been caught offering money to his players so they would deliberately lose. Tpytehb would then have betted a huge amount on the opponent at the eSport betting site XLBet.com.

Chat logs between Tpytehb and Chinese Human player "wp" have been published at Replays.net, which clearly shows the scandalous attempts from the manager.

"If u will lose orcbaby i will pay you 15$," was what Tpytehb offered wp, but he player quickly declined. "No, I refuse to," said wp. "To tell you the truth I do not value this game, but I really do not want to do it."

Due to this debacle, the Chinese members, hailing from team BoC, has left Because We Care. This includes the rig-attempted player WP, Moonfans, Goblin, Bosuhe and all the other Chinese players will continue playing on their own.

- "This is not only an insult to WarCraft 3, but an insult to the Chinese team honor. Money is not everything, not all Chinese people love money," says BoC team manager 7night in a statement to Replays.net.

"Not only the players can not stand it, but as a management we can't tolerate these acts, so we resolutely left the team."

Tpytehb has in a statement to GoodGame.ru begged for forgiveness.

- "I apologize to the entire community of esports for unsportsmanlike behaviour, I really tried to manipulate the rates, not only to Chinese but also European players," admits Tpytehb.

"I was wrong, and I understand now how low I sunk, I apologize to all the players on the team as well as managers who were with me."

He further explains that he wants to stay within eSports and how he loves the WarCraft 3 community. At the same time, nearly all the players in Because We Care have left.

XLBet.com has stated they take the match issues very serious and that they will do everything possible to prevent it and punish the persons behind it.

This is the very first time I try to make a comment on a foreign website, so I beg your tolarance of the spelling and grammer mistakes.
To #2: If you really had watched the WC3NC you would find that Chinese players lost few poionts, though they were under a high ping like 200-300ms and it was midnight in china.
To #1.3.4 and so on: Considering 1 dollar equals to nearly 7 RMB, it is not a small amount of money for Chinese players. Can you imagine the lives of those chinese players who are not so famous at the moment? They are university graduates, but they choose to have fast noodles for lunch and dinner, only beacause they love War3 and wanna be a proffesional player. Will you make the same choice for your dream? If you won’t, please pay your respect to those who will.

Once I thoght Chinese have already lost their believes and spirits, but now I know I made a big mistake.

#12 and 13 I would gladly insult your countrymen, unfotunately, I'm not a retard to generalise about entire country on behalf of one moron. So i'm just gonna insult you (which I just did).

On topic though - this guy should be banned forever from all e-sports events. Real shame.

Sad and funny at the same time. I guess the BWC manager thought since Chinese people are poor, he'd offer one $15 to lose so he can win hundreds or thousands in the counter-bet. Rather stupid, but then if you were smart you probably wouldn't be caught in the first place.

#33 xDDD BW is bigger and better in everything they do aren't they? Hahahahahaha
Anyways BWC didn't make sense anyways. Non-existant teams don't form out of no wher. With top semi pro and pro players. I'm guessing he was bribing players to try to earn enough to pay FoCuS's salary. What suprises me most is how the Chinese and Korea players even agreed to join this no name team. No offense to Russians cause I know a lot of great Russians but when a random bad mannered Russian makes a pro team from scratch with no sponsors, it's obviously a scam.
This is probably not the first time he's done something like this and probably won't be the last. His confession to that has already been made. "He further explains that he wants to stay within eSports and how he loves the WarCraft 3 community."
It's up to the community to spot him and shut him down.

#21 If 15$ is that much in China, things would be so different if BWC manager offered 50$.
