With the StarCraft 2 beta on the horizon, the WarCraft 3 scene is predicted to shrink, especially in the European scene. Will you switch from WarCraft 3 to StarCraft 2 once the beta hits?Place your vote in the right column on the front page.

| Hm to be honest, i dont think starcraft 2 will be as groundbreaking as apparently most wc3 players believe, its not a warcraft in space, its an entirely different thing, theres no heroes, no creeping and every aspect associated to that, that dominates the way wc3 is played, is absent, the very way you micro and macro is different, a wc3 player starting with sc2 will practically begin from scratch, a thought unbeareble for progamers who make their money with the game, obviously there are players who are very familiar with the sc mechanics as to perhaps allow them, with enough training, to compete with the migrating sc players, but everyone else will just be lost. Besides, it wont be an established and perfectly balanced title overnight, most leagues will stay with sc and wc3 for the time being, while it will be an undoubtedly faster acceptance than what it was with the other 2 mentioned games. Just my 2 cents though. |
| starcraft was and will always be like WC2 with 3 different races. WC3 was the first RTS game that brought something new with the heros, items and creeps. Sorry but starcraft is completely overrated especially SC2. To be honest its just SC 1 with better controls, bnet and graphics. I dont think its a good value for waiting over 10 years. WC3 was just unbelievable for its time if you compare it to WC2 and therefor it needed only 7 years. Blizzard will never reaching this glory again. |
| havent played wc3 ladder in a long time so i'll focus on starcraft 2 once i get a hold of it (but i'll of course follow wc e-news and try to catch as many live streams as possible) |

| #23 I agree that wc3 players, who dont have any knowledge about sc1 , will be disadvantaged when sc2 comes because sc2 will be similar game with sc1. But however I dont think that it will be a impenetrable wall to surpass for ex-wc3 players who are motivated to do well in the game. |
| #28 Hes not saying its an impenetrable wall, but the effort you have to put into it will be much greater, and for a very long time the scene will be dominated but those who are well acquainted with the mechanics, i.e. ex sc players, and his point is about the pros, who cant afford to be outside the circle, so to speak, for a long time as it is what they live off. |

| i differ from wc3 and starcraft. u all talk like u can only choose one of both games. but for me, its completely different as ceasar3 and age of empires. i think i will always play wc3, and sometimes sc2. btw, wc3 unbalanced? for us? |
| wc3 isn't inbalanced enough to just skip the game just for that reason, and people seem to think if they can play wc3 they can just switch to sc2 and learn the game and become decent at it in 1 month |
| I speak by experience when I say that every good War3 players cant get decent at Starcraft after a few months of practice, there's no reason why it wouldn't be the same with Starcraft 2. Besides Starcraft 1 players are used to 2D, manual mining, SBS, of course they're still the ones with statistically the best chances of doing great at the beginning, but it's not like they will be head and shoulders above every other players for very long. |

| Now i must say that SC2 still aint like SC1, really it is goin to be alot diffrent with many new units and some units have been remade. Dont forget that, and theres lots of new maps and shit. SC1 strats probbaly wont work so WC3 players will have a fair chance if you ask me, and i think that which makes WC3 a bad game is the heroes and the creeping. If there wasnt a Blademaster the game would be abit more balanced ETC. |

| totally agree with #23 and if blizzard makes a new patch with balance fixes and lets say 2 tavern heroes(keep dreaming!)anyway,wc3 will be alive again and maybe add some healing salves or whateva to ud. |

| A lot of people will switch, and most certainly no new players will start playing WC3. This means the scene will shrink and in a couple of years it will probably be more or less dead. |
| I will buy it when it will come out and play the campaign, but after that, I'll probably go back to wc3. SC2 isn't just what wc3 is - everything is so different. For example, you won't have heroes in the same way. The micro and the macro will be totaly different and the whole creeping scene won't be there.. so, I'll guess I will keep play wc3. But although I will buy it and give it a try. :) |
