Lyn: 'I gave the leader of WeMade FOX a phone call'

Posted by Patrik "Raistlin" Hellstrand 2 years ago

June "Lyn" Park won the most prize money over the past two years. By joining WeMade FOX, his yearly salary most likely skewed and is now included in the star filled roster with Moon and Soccer.

Fomos.kr, Korean eSports website interviewed the Orc WeMade FOX player. GosuGamers gives you the interview translated into English.

What is your feeling after having arrived to Wemade FOX?
- Here I experienced dormitory life for the first time, and our team has a friendly atmosphere, and I’m glad we have a nice leader and a nice coach, by the way our food is delicious. In such an atmosphere I will practice consciously, which is much better compared to what I did alone at home.

I would like to find out the reason you come to Wemadefox and the entire process. Can we talk about that?
- On one hand I had some problems with my former team, SK, so I thought of joining a stable Korean team. First I gave the leader of WeMade FOX a phone call to express my will to join in. At the time he didn't expect that at all. Fortunately we all accomplished the whole thing zealously, so at last I could join in.

So now you are in the same team with Moon, any special feeling?
- I had never thought of becoming his team mate some day, we still had some competitive spirit between different teams actually. So I didn't expect that but now it comes true at last. (laughs)

I feel stressed at the beginning of every year, because I always hope I can do better than last year
Is it difficult for you to adjust to your communal life?
- I feel no differences from my usual life. It just feels like some party travel when I was in senior high school! (laughs) In the matter of adaption, I feel totally fine.

Your achievements in 2009 were really great, so are you under some pressure for the upcoming 2010?
- I feel stressed at the beginning of every year, because I always hope I can do better than last year. In fact, in my opinion, to begin with such a stressed state, it will work out better. So recently I increased my practise, and it feels really nice.

Before you joined a Korean professional e-sports team who has strong backup force, is there anything that bothered you a lot?
- During the ESTAR tournament held last year, out of all Korean players, I was the only one who had to go to and from my home and the training venue, while others were already team members from the CS branch of WeMade FOX, and the WarCraft players all lived in a dormitory. So at that time I went back and and forth to my home via subways alone, it was really a hard time.

So now WeMade FOX have Orc and Night Elf players, both in your lineup and your practise regime, what do you say about that?
- Recently it has felt like the Chinese players don't wanna train together with us (smiles). In our country we almost have no Undead or Human players, while Chinese players are slightly stronger in the area. So if you wanna have great achievements in China, you have to know how to play against Human players. All in all I develop my own trials first, I played with some Human newbies - at the same time I find ways that can do both of us help. Sky makes notes in his notebook as soon as a game ends. All the time, Chinese players are so dilligent and investigative. Sometimes I feel I also need to strengthen my practice on Human.

What will your schedule be from now on?
- At the moment I'm still not quite sure. Maybe I will go to Germany very soon, but the schedule is not confirmed yet.

The news that you joined WemMade FOX is popular among your foreign fans, have you noticed that?
- I paid close attention to the official website of SK-Gaming to see how they reacted, most of those fans seemed regretful. Some foreign website also predict which team will be my next station, because the manager of SK-Gaming said I wouldn't go to WeMade FOX. At that time most people thought I would join a Chinese team, but all Korean and Chinese fans knew clearly I would go to WeMade FOX, so I was a bit nervors of that, hehe. But it seemed that Korean and Chinese fans asked me to either "enlist in the armed forces or go to WeMade FOX”.

Allow me to change [Moon], until some day he can dance in public!
How’s your dorminory life with Moon?
- Moon is an incommunicative person, but a common joke also can make him laugh out for a while. It didn't take me a long time to become intimate with him. So allow me to change him, until some day he can dance in public! (laughs)

It is said that you helped Moon with some practise for WEM 2009?
- Perhaps that’s why I got kicked out (smiles). I lent him my training computer, because he got one win and one loss at that time, then he had to win the last match if he wanted to get promoted, so I yielded my position. As a result I got kicked out, while he came to the finals at last.

After you won the bronze medal in WCG 2009, you said ”this medal has been too late for me”, that interview became a hot issue at once.
- I scanned some comments, and most of them said that I was eloquent and minded. In fact, in some way I just judge the current situation correctly, now only those who get promoted in preliminaries can come on the stage in events. Nowadays it's hard to score achivements unless you are a super genius.

Please share your determination and goal with us!
- My willing is to win prizes in all events, and I will work hard to become the number one on both bonus and the ranking list. I have been the one that got the most prize mony for two years! (laughs)
