Warcraft movie to be Spider-Man director's next project

Sam Raimi, future director of the much anticipated fantasy/adventure Warcraft film, has jumped the sinking Spider-Man 4 ship.

Spider-Man 4, which will now be completely rebooted, was the film Sam Raimi was set to finish before he took on the work on the Warcraft picture.

According to a source at aintitcool.com, Raimi will take on the Warcraft series as his next project.

- "I feel confident in saying that the next film we’ll see from Raimi is going to be Warcraft… which after Avatar, the concept of world building that particular universe could be astonishing – especially in 3D – especially after what Cameron just unleashed upon the globe," writes aintitcool.com.

Robert Rodat, script writer of Saving Private Ryan and The Patriot, is reported by aforementioned site to has put together "one helluva script" for the upcoming film.

thats great,he can make movies by books or Warcraft 3 ROC+TFT storyline...give it to Peter Jackson,we saw what he makes from LOTR!!!

make world of warcraft movie and show how crappy it is and then ppl starts leaving the games and blizz starts looking into other games besides wow

warcraft movie can be awsome but its hard to make it good and interesting for the general audiance and not just wc gamers and fans

i doubt the real wc fans will like it, it will prolly be something like what they did with silent hill and max payne. just steal a few names and characters, change the story completely and call it the same...

although "one helluva script" does sound like a good start im a sceptic here.

blizzard is just very intelligent for making wonderful story lines.. they were able to make WoW and a movie related to wc3... awesome..

#12 he's refuring to Avatar 3D which is obviously what Warcraft Movie will be shot in. However how well the actual movie will be depends... what we know is that its going to be more or less an Alliance POV movie as stated by Blizzard the world isnt ready for Orc domination. So hopefully they can pull together a good script without much of the Thrallinator!

Of the Tobey Mcguire spiderman movies, 1&2 were really good. 3 was a joke.

I rather watch a movie blizzard created with their CG designs just like the cinematic scenes in their recent games... and trailers... Just 1 word... ORGASMIC!

Hope Raimi will make this film in his old much better style, than the spierman's ones. But good they choose him he is great director/produser.

#20 I totally agree with you, they shoulded animated it themself. The cinematics in the movie were awesome! I'm a bit afraid of this real person movie. And I hope they wont do it in 3D. It just sucks, it still needs time to be good.... -.-
