After 3-4 months since the SK-Gaming Violet has joined the ranks of Serious Gaming.

The departure from SK-Gaming certainly didn't stop Dong Hwan "viOlet" Kim from being motivated to continue playing Warcraft 3. He was seen as a Prodigy when he was playing for SK-Gaming. Many believe that he had the potential to be among the top Orc players know today.

Not to long he joined the Korea team All for One to compete in NGL and WCIP but that didn't last long. Now he finds himself within the team of Serious Gaming who sees a lot of hope in him. They were impressed with him this latest Zotac Cup where he beat his new teammate Hjalle "DowaQ" Hogberg by 3-2 in the finals.

Plans for Violet include the upcoming season of WC3L. They wanted to secure a competitive line-up and believe that Violet can live up to the expectation.

"With a new season of WC3L coming up, the time is right to ensure we can put up a diverse and a competitive line-up. We strongly believe viOlet is the right player to fulfill these expectations." - srs.manager

This indicates that Serious Gaming has made the decision to go back to participating in team league. Last year they announced that they were backing out and only focusing on solo tournaments but ended up joining NGL Season 6 and now they are ready to return to WC3L when they new season is announced.

"We are glad to sign Dong Hwan since it is in our opinion the perfect addition to the team. He is a young and talented player that is looking to make a big name for himself. We hope Serious can help him achieve his goals, and along the way benefit from his performances. - Bas "basZ" Peeperkorn, general manager of srs

Violets is overall happy that he gets a chance to play in a team again. Mentions how he had a hard time when his house burned down. He promis to do his best within the team of Serious Gaming.

After departing from SK-Gaming about 3-4 months ago I am really glad that Serious Gaming is giving me the chance to play with them. I had some very tough months when our house burned down, but now everything is fixed and I can focus on my gaming career again. I will do the best I can for srs, and will work hard to get much better. I am happy to join a very strong team and hope that we can achieve our goals. And thanks to Razer!” - Dong Hwan "viOlet" Kim

Serious Gaming team roster:
South Korea Dong Hwan "viOlet" Kim
Netherlands Kevin "RotterdaM" van der Kooi
Sweden Hjalle "DowaQ" Hogberg
United States Nikolaus "SonKiE" Cassidy

well take a look at what we've been given. WC3L always announced qualifiers in the middle of the playdowns. That was nearly 2 months ago. They always selected the teams during the finals and played them out while the finals were going. Now the finals have been over for well over a month now and STILL nothing posted on the WC3L site about an upcoming season. Its very odd and im actually surprised no one else has noticed this or is asking the same questions.

could possibly be a sponsorship problem or maybe they are reevaluating what do to with WC3L because no one really seemed to be interested in the davis cup system.

True, the davis cup system was supposed to give back some prestige to the wc3l, but truth is no one really liked it, people still prefer the classic wc3l system, as is played in wcip. With the recent prize money cuts the wc3l suffered yet even more. I dont think the esl will just give up on wc3l though, most likely they re trying to figure out how to solve their money/lost interest problems, im pretty sure we ll have at least one more season.

well, personally i think davis cup system helped pointing out WC3L from WCIP and gave teams the chance to reduce their rosters (yes, at the expense of the range of different players but it was the way to keep a "profit"). I hope this lowered budgets won't take wc3l away from us :(

"He was seen as a Prodigy when he was playing for SK-Gaming."

Really? I thought he was a disappointment during the playoffs.

#11 Thank you for this intelligent comment of yours. Go play with orc...

A nice addition for the team, but personally I think, he accepted the offer, because he did not get any other.

I hope WC3L will survive this and will go on. There is no top lvl clan tournaments, mb NGL 3v3, but it is not the same! :(

NGL 3v3 is NOT a top lvl clan tournament. There are some top players playing and most of the teams are strong teams, but the real top lvl isn't there.
