Turning 22 today!
Created 18th March 2008 08:34

Oh my god... I'm turning 22 today, and I feel so old. I'll have no choice but to start acting like a grown-up soon, and I really don't look forward to it. I miss the days when nothing really mattered and I could do whatever I felt like. Things are getting way too serious now. T_T

Anyway, happy birthday to me!

Okay it's emo time again!
Created 26th February 2008 12:27

<emo>I'm feeling so sorry for myself right now. I have a nasty fever, my throat is sore, I'm unable to breathe trough my nose, and there is a constant stream of snot pouring out of it. My head is aching, my whole body is hurting, and I can't go a minute without coughing my lungs out.

As if it wasn't enough with me being sick I have got a shit load of school related stuff to take care of. Boring assignments, 40000 pages to read, 9000 articles to read and discuss. Stuff I really don't feel like doing.

And while I'm at it, I'll write a few lines about my passionate hate towards the Protoss race as well. I'm a Terran player who find TvP to be the most boring of all match ups. To me, it feels like most maps favor Protoss in one way or another. PvT must be the easiest match up ever.

I hate playing ladders, since about two thirds of all players use Protoss as their race. All people want to do is to get points and achieve a high rank, and the way they do it really doesn't bother them. So it all becomes a cheese feast! It's just so damn boring! I hate Protoss, I hate cheesing. That said, I pretty much hate BW.</emo>

National teams & activity
Created 24th September 2007 01:33

I have been a part of the Swedish national Starcraft team for quite a while now, and I have got say I really feel something is missing. For a long time there have been no special tournaments with national teams involved. It is really sad. I am sure everyone, from managers and players to the public audience, love to be able to GosuBet on the teams they believe to be the stronger, watch replays of their favourite players clashing it out in matches that actually mean something and so on.

Friendly nation wars in all glory, but it really is not the same. There is nothing special at stake, and no one really cares the way one should care when it is a national team playing. If we compare e-sport to regular sport such as football or hockey, one way it differs is the big tournaments. There really is nothing bigger for a team than to win the World Cup or the Olympics. That is what the stars keep practicing for (that and their extreme salary of course) and spend so much time for.

They have a competitive spirit that no friendly matches against different teams can satisfy. I honestly believe it is the same in StarCraft. We can easily see that when there is no ladder around, loads and loads of pretty good players go inactive and do something else than playing our beloved game, just because they have nothing to play for. As soon as a place where skills can be measured, wins actually mean something and so forth, the activity raises a ton.

Many of the Starcraft national teams are powerhouses that are slumbering a bit. At the moment there is no real reason to be super active, as there really is nothing to play for. I am writing this post to ask different sites and organizations to get some kind of tournament or league running. I am sure there are a lot of ideas, make sure they become reality! The whole community would benefit from such events. News sites would have news to write, replay sites would have replays to upload, ladders would have more active players.

Am I the only one who feels like this, or do you support me?

MgZ apparently back...
Created 30th November 1999 00:00

MgZ back, everyone is dancing on the streets! Or maybe not...

TT1
Oldy
TroNiC
Hungtran
Dino
(more?)

Several seasons their succes lied in having league points won by people using hacks. I always thought of MgZ as a solid team, but since all the hackers were discovered I really think people have had too high thoughts of them.

Good luck though!
