Talk about commitment
Created 27th November 2008 17:55

There was a guy here who wanted to play in the DotA tournament. He said he had rushed here after doing his military checkup, and was so pumped playing DotA.

But he was too late. Sadface.

Hopefully he'll enter the army, there he can play as many -cm as he want.

I played a PvP in SC2
Created 27th November 2008 15:48 (Updated: 27th November 2008 15:48)

I just played a quick Protoss versus Protoss at the StarCraft 2 area.

Sadly there wasn't much opposition, as Alak and Vilda were busy playing each other. I played some random guy, who stopped his probe production at 9 and then went for zelaots and one immortal. Feeling stressed, actually I was about to announce the starting times for the WarCraft 3 and DotA tournaments, I went for a quick zealot rish with godlike micromanagement.

The game was over pretty fast.

I feel unsatisfied.

I'll go play more later.

WCG, beyond the hunger
Created 5th November 2008 19:57 (Updated: 5th November 2008 20:06)

I just had a WCG Monza flashback!

While I was adding a headline for the Mondragon and Arew article by halfnorn, my brain gave me a flashback from 2006. The World Cyber Games was then in Monza, and it was my first international eSport event.

It was on the second day at the Autodromo, and the matches had just begun. I was sitting in the press area, struggling with the strange keyboard settings, and had just sent away NastyMarine and halfnorn out to snap some photos and maybe get a hold of a player to interview.

I hadn't eaten more than a chocolate croissant at Sebastian's (Shun) place for breakfast, and the day was nearing 16:00. I felt sooo hungry, and the mini cookies the press people had set out was long gone. I was so stressed, with getting the Grubby article out, and uploading the right pictures to the right album. So food was not my number one priority at that time.

But then Jonatan (Mazor) put his hand on my shoulder and asked me if I had eaten anything yet. I said no, and that I would just finish this up, and then go eat. We then laughed and looked at each other saying "yeah, like that's gonna happen anytime soon".

Damn WCG.

SaSe at Arlanda
Created 5th November 2008 16:23

My friend and former colleague Fredrik "ponderosa" Nyström at Rakaka.se met up with Kim "SaSe" Hammar at the Swedish airport Arlanda.

SaSe said that he landed in Sweden this Monday after being in China for the WEM and Make Games Colorful. The Swedish Night Elf player is in Group A, where he's facing both Grubby and InFi. Apparently he thinks his group is pretty okay. He says that he's playing InFi on Gnoll Wood, a map that's rarely used in China nor in tournaments other than WC3L = good chances of winning in order words.

He also speaks about his last encounter with Grubby. Last time they played was on the BlizzCon European qualifier, where SaSe won 2-0. The map is Turtle Rock, which gives SaSe a 50/50 chance, according to himself.

Group A will be [toyt] like a tiger. Yesch, yesch, very [toyt].
