i just started getting serious about starcraft, ive been playing for a while but i just started playing melee and low money maps. im at D+ right now and im thinking about how SC2 is coming and i ask myself: is it worth it? is it worth getting so deep in this game, this community? will sc2 ruin that? will sc2 create a better, deeper, larger scene? its so ambiguous. im a soccer player. i love playing soccer and im dedicated to the sport. that scene will never fade and i can gain a sort of respect by getting good at soccer. but how about sc? when sc2 comes out and im a "D-" player at sc2, and i say to them "well hey, i was C+ at SC" will they just laugh? im not bashing sc2, even though a lot of the features are iffy. im sure after a couple years itd be great. but where will that leave these 10 years of dedication? in the muck? will Jaedong be left with his 350 apm vs noobs and have to work another 5 years to perfect the game? if they ever made Soccer 2, id be furious. | |||||||||||||||||
