The Cataclysm Beta
Created 24th November 2010 14:23 (Updated: 24th November 2010 14:41)

Hello everyone,

I don't know how many of you really know me here, I'm currently WoW-editor for GosuGamers and I thought it would come in handy to write about my experiences in the Cataclysm beta now that it's about 2 weeks left until the expansion.

I have been playing WoW since I can remember.. My main is currently a resto druid, but I have 8 other lvl 80s atm (yes I know some of you might think I'm absolutely nuts :P)

I have been in the Cataclysm Beta for a few months now and I've tried both raids and heroics as well as questing. So I thought I'd post my point of view on a few different areas.

Leveling and questing

I was leveling in the new areas, both Mount Hyjal and Vashj'ir. Personally Mount Hyjal was my favourite spot to start questing as it was a bit more clear where the quests were while Vashj'ir was for me a bit confusing. I loved the fact that Vashj'ir was underwater and to get the seahorse mount quest was quite fun even though I had no idea that you'd actually get a mount as I didn't read anything about it before I started playing the Beta.

Seahorse mount.

Mount Hyjal.

The quests in all the new leveling areas (not just the starting ones, meaning 80-82) had for me very fun quests. I loved doing every single one. I suppose it could also be because I had never done those quests before, but also the fact that they were a bit different. I'm not gonna be pointing anything out specifically as I'd want you all to enjoy the fun and surprise yourselves.

What I also liked was that when you join a dungeon group, the questgiver gives you all the quests right inside the instance, so you don't have to run around to different areas picking up a bunch of quests, do them, then have to run back around the different places turning them in. In Cataclysm the quests are inside the instance only and they give sweet experience, making it a lot easier to level!

Somewhere in Vashj'ir.

Healing in Cataclysm

Since I have all the healing classes leveled to 80, I also tried them in both heroics and raids. Honestly, even thought priest healing has been nerfed to the ground,

I loved healing as priest the most. Both as Discipline and as Holy. I love that Discipline priests need to DPS at the same time as they're healing. When I comes to Holy, I love the whole "Chakra"-state. That different spells trigger different healing spells. Though I noticed that I went oom quite fast as Holy. It was alright though, it also depends on how good the DPS is in the group and how much incoming damage there is.

Shaman healing, I felt was a bit OP... I kinda never went oom even though I spammed alot. Hopefully this will be changed in the real game and get more balanced. I liked shammy healing a lot though. A few new spells have been added and I enjoyed figuring out which one to use.

Paladin healing, I found a bit hard. I suppose it's because I was used to spamming holy light and judgement and pretty much nothing else in Wotlk. Paladins have gotten several new spells. I wasn't too interested in paladin healing. It was more fun than spamming 2 buttons but it's definetly not my favourite class, I prefered tanking a lot more as paladin than anything else.

Druid healing, my main's spec, I am a bit annoyed with how fast I seem to go oom as a druid. Healing in raid wasn't that bad because I'm not the only healer in a raid, hehe, but in dungeons it was hard. Sometimes I went oom after 2 normal pack of mobs, and that after using innervate and a mana potion. I felt like it was hardest to heal with druid, but I liked the challenge. I just wish we had some better mana regen, I'm not one of the healers who spam heal with druids, so I really want to have more replenishment!

Dungeons and Raids

I did a few raids and all the new dungeons. All I have to say is... WOW!...

The difference between raids in Wotlk and Cataclysm is huge. Cataclysm raiding takes me back to TBC. The fact that everyone have to be fully focused, healers, dps AND the tanks or it's a wipe, is something I'm very happy about. There will be no more slacking, no more boosting people. If ll the raiders don't do what they're supposed to do, a wipe is imminent. The raids are in my opinion very hard compared to Wotlk. TBC was a challenge and so will Cataclysm be, with only 2 weeks left, I cannot wait!

Dungeons are very fun! Doing the old instances like SFK and Deadmines at level 85 is awesome. The dungeons are hard even in full epic gear. I'm so happy that Blizzard has added the fact that CC (crowd control) needs to be used in heroics as well as raids again. The heroics are in my opinion like small raids. They aren't 15min long anymore, more like 40-2h, depending on how many wipes you have, and trust me when I say it WILL happen. Wipes will happen even if small mistakes happen. small mistakes like pulling 2 pack of mobs instead of 1 can mean a wipe if the CC'ers aren't fast enough on doing their job.

One of many nice places :)

Last boss in Grim Batol.

Conclusion: I know that I haven't written much about dps nor tanking, but I only tanked as a paladin (which I really enjoyed) and only dps'ed as mage, warlock and boomkin. I loved doing dps as all of those classes, but since I haven't tried the other classes I felt like it would be unfair to the readers of this blog to post about it so I'll leave it out entirely. All I have to say is, be ready for BIG changes and surprises! Don't be ashamed if your dps or healing isn't as "good" as it used to be.

Thanks for reading this, very long blog hehe. Hope you enjoyed the blog and good luck in Cataclysm! Only 2 weeks left guys and girls! Enjoy the new expansion, I know I will!

Created 14th April 2008 10:34

Hey everyone...

I just feel like writing alot lot lot to slow my fingers down a bit later on lol.. <.<

Well last weekend I spent with LoC... even though it wasnt what we thought it would be like... it was quite nice.. (duh ofc it's nice i was with him ^^) Friday we went to the movies... watched Superhero movie.. lol.. it was hilarious :P and okey... but i almost fell asleep... not because of the movie but because of the fact that i had a tough day at work on friday and i was completly exhausted.

Yes I'm working... I'm working 5 weeks at a upper secondary school now... it's quite fun..teaching english and swedish...mostly swedish though. And ofc in swedish schools cellphones ringing during class is a BIG "no no" lol... and guess what happens...here i go standing in front of the class lecturing..and my phone rings >.< lol... so i told the class to do some tasks while i talk on the phone xD When I answered it was a guy calling me... he wanted to meet me... I had applied for a job recently...and he wanted me to come over on wednesday (yes this coming wednesday....16/4... ) at 3pm... for an interview... I'm so nervous since it's my first one >.< I havent worked before, I've mostly been abroad during summers lol.. so I really hope i get this job so i can get some casssssh and well the job is just across the street from my house lol! ^^ ... anyway.... wish me luck!! >.< lol

well.. anyway to go on... Weekend was nice, I just wish it was longer... I miss LoC :/ meh... Monday today... boring day... got 3 classes to teach today and a very very VERY long break... i wish i had quit earlier instead of having this long break -.- annoying lol..

When I get home I need to study... >.< I got an exam on saturday (BLEH!)...grammar exam.. that's gonna be a pain in the ass :( i hate grammar...Hopefully I can spend the remaining of the weekend with LoC again... I cant wait for june...so my classes end and i go on a small weekend-vacation with LoC...

Anyway, time to go plan next lesson... booooring... -.- lol... (aint i a funny teacher >.< lol) I'll get back to you after my interview to tell you all how it went ^^

Cheerio, have a nice week!

Having a cold
Created 19th February 2008 18:46

Hey everyone!

Well, I met Mattias, (Lord_of_Chaos) last weekend, had a nice time, even though he had a bad cold so I had to take care of him. Poor thing :P ..Well we went shopping a bit and watched some movies, ordered pizza etc. We couldnt really go anywhere because he was in quite bad shape and well I was kinda down...

So..now that he went home last sunday, his cold got to me... >.< Now I'm the one home with high fever, headache that wants to explode and a throat thats aching so much that I can barely swallow... soup ftw! lol..

I hate being sick... but at least he is well now... and that's what really matters. Now I'll just have to force him to take care of me for my bday lol >.< yay being home sick for a bday is awesome (not!) not to mention that I have a huge huge HUGE exam the same day, so yeah I feel great...not..bleh... I just wanna get healthy again!!

Yea enough feeling sorry for myself :P thanks for listening (reading) :P

Have a nice day/evening/night and hope you all got your health intact! ^_^

Dreamhack W00t!
Created 1st December 2007 21:50 (Updated: 1st December 2007 21:52)

Hey again everyone..

WOW... a few hours ago we had a REALLY REALLY tense and interesting final in the Starcraft tournament ...and I was so high xD It was really amazing. And I'm really happy that haypro won! ^_^ Though I was hoping that Datoby would defend his title :)

Well I wrote a blog a few days ago, when DH started, and it is just amazing now as it was then. This afternoon the IT-minister also announced that we broke the worldrecord again, 10 445 computers at DH! Wow! So many people, I wonder how many more computers can fit here ^_^ I'm really happy I came here once again and I surely hope to be able to get there in the summer again.

Soon it's time to go home and tbh I dont want to! It's been so fun meeting so many ppl and meeting NEW ppl as well.. also inside the gg.crew but also visitors.

I've had a great fun following NaW- in their tournament and matches. :) Also had fun watching other tournaments like the finals in the WoW- tournament (world of warcraft...yay ^_^ ).. I hope you guys are enjoying the news we give you from here and I hope, like I said in the last blog, that more of you will come on next Dreamhack :)

Lots of love to everyone,

Eresea,

hehe, yeah, but WGT was the official fansite of BW as well, just before WGT went completely off the map. So it may just as well be a death sentence xD

Yeah..You now understand why we've come to this dead end.Nevermind,i even stopped watching the news,i was always getting angry when i was doing so,everyone's looking to make profit out of this situation, whether it's political or just money :@ :p

BeyondWonderland @ 1 day ago
Well,we had the May elections, but our brilliant politicians couldn't reach an agreement,so we're having elections again,on the 17th of June.People are tired of this situation,i'm afraid things may get worse..Anyways :D As a child i grew up reading greek mythology,it really is something exciting.I never had the chance, though,to study Norse mythology,i'd love that :D

I live in Serres,it's in the north part of Greece,80 km from Thessaloniki.Well, with all those things going on right now at the country,i would suggest you visit Greek islands rather than Athens, especially in summer.
