GosuGamers are happy to announce two updates to the Nordic WCG Preliminaries this summer, 30th of July, which we are hoping will increase the interest in participating!

Since the original requirement of having 50 participants per country was not fulfilled - as expected atleast for some - by any of the four countries, we've put a great effort in turning the event into a reality regardless. We've managed to change the requirements on two key points - qualifications and prices:

1. A joined preliminary for all the four countries

We've got a green light from the World Cyber Games Nordic organization to host a joined preliminary. This means all the countries are fighting for one spot regardless of the players' nationality.

2. Registration fee lowered to 250 SEK per person

Since the majority of people not participating were complaining about the high registration price, we've discussed several solutions forth and back with Inferno Online regarding the issue. Due to the fact that the preliminary is joined, it will be easier getting a total number of participants. However, to increase this number we've lowered the registration feeo to 250 SEK per person - assuming 75 players, as a minimum, register. This huge cost is still because of the fact that we need $1500 + flight tickets to Singapore and back (estimated as a total of €2,400) for the winner.

We're hoping that this will increase the interest, so tell all your friends that they should sign up because we need a total of 75.

Sending the interest e-mail means you believe you are most likely able:

to pay 250 SEK (~27€) in a registration fee (» Read why),
to travel to Inferno Online, Stockholm
to participate the 30th of July 2005 (around 17.00 - 09.00 next morning).
