Taking a play from the Arizona State University playbook, The University of Texas-Arlington remained completely undefeated in their Heroes of the Dorm run. Also continuing the tradition of gaining the victory the year after they get second place, as ASU did in 2015/2016.
Since this years Heroes of the Dorm began, UT-A was already on the radar of all of their competitors considering their strong play last season. Bringing back three of their five players back and dedicating themselves proved their worth in the 2017 season. While those three players also have experience in pro play (old school Team Blaze) the team chose to focus this year completely and totally on Heroes of the Dorm. UT-A has also taken advantage of the HGC Open Division, winning all but one cup they participated in which was obviously great practice for their Dorm run.
LSU was another extremely favored team but that didn't shake UT-A as they swept them in the finals 3-0.
