Ex-Cloud9's Grego answered your questions in this AMA

After several requests Gregomyeggo, the ex-Cloud9 player, agreed to an AMA answering the fans' questions.

With Cloud9's Overwatch contracts running out last month, several players are now once again free agents. Because these players are some of the more experienced and talented around, naturally the attention for them has picked up.

Because of this, the /r/competitiveoverwatch subreddit requested a Q&A session with one of those players: Grego. Luckily, he agreed, and spent a few hours answering questions. Below, we have compiled some of the most interesting responses:

  • 'Improve Lucio aim is heavily dependent on predicting enemy movement. For instance when I 1 combo tracers, it's all about feeling out her next movement direction change, starting your crosshair where that will be, and then giving it a wiggle to the other side and then back.'

  • When playing Lucio in a Dive composition, you should always stay close to your Ana to 'speed her to saftery and peel her with your boops'.

  • 'Great Lucio's have great awareness with the ability to jump in between being a support and filling for damage when the time is right. It's all about being very comfortable with the flow of the game in order to reach maximum effectiveness, but also just aiming that slow gun and making it's damage worthwhile.'

  • While Grego would be ready to play Lucio in his next team, he is very much interested in trying out the projectile DPS role. He is confident he can keep up with the best in that role.

  • Rly Cool Guys, while a very talented roster, disappeared after mentality issues that caused them to stop taking it seriously.

  • When asked what was the worst piece of advice he ever received, Grego responded that instead of 'sticking to my roots' you should always 'challenge yourself, push yourself out of your comfort zone, otherwise you'll never learn how to handle certain situations.'

  • Grego likes the direction Blizzard has been going with the PTR Lucio changes, but he thinks it might limit his playstyle options mid fight.

  • He believes Korea is so far ahead in terms of overall talent/teamwork, but the West is not organized enough right now to figure out how to counter them.

  • Grego stated that he believes Krawnnic, Reaver, Talespin (and himself) are the best NA free agents currently.

  • When looking at teammates, the most important qualities in Grego's eyes are 'High skill and High resolve. I need someone to realize that when shit happens that they don't like, it's ok. It's going to happen and they need to keep playing their best. Having Inner resolve is one of the most overlooked qualities in all Esports.'

  • Grego shared that he would only consider joining an EU team if they had plans to move to NA.

  • New teams should focus on Ult management and knowing where and when to fight. They should also learn how certain comps should be played, to perfect your set-ups/comps.

  • Grego believes Sombra and Junkrat could see more play in the future, but they are really hard to play at an effective level.

  • Finally, when asked what he could have improved on in his career, Grego answered that he should have taken more care of his hands, given himself more breaks and not worry so much when things weren't going his way.
