Korean terran invite Supernova took a commanding lead in Group A, after playing exemplary TvZ series against his foreign opponents. Supernova is only to play Illusion next and is almost certain to advance to the playoffs.

Although the Korean invite did come as the absolute and unquestionable favorite for the tournament, the Chilean zerg KiLLer did make him break a sweat. KiLLer was relentless in the first set, bravely breaking through Supernova's center position despite the perfect tank and marine spread and continued to rally forces up terran territory but Supernova was unbreakable from that point on. With a steady economy behind his back and with ultras instead of brood lords on the field for Killer, Supernova continued to produce silly amounts of marines and medivacs and force a GG.

During set two,...

The young, up-and-coming terran Illusion could not withstand the power of DarkForce as the German walked out triumphant after three sets of ZvT to open IEM Sao Paulo.

DarkForce took the early lead, after taking advantage of some of Illusion's mistakes, starting with crushing the initial terran force but then immediately entering a heavy economy mode, giving Illusion some time to catch up. However, the American terran was once again ready to throw the equilibrium away as he moved almost tankless toward the center of the map in order to establish a fourth base. By that time, however, DarkForce had successfully reached greater spire tech and with just a few Brood Lords and abundance of infestors and banelings, he was able to secure the lead.

Spawning on Tal'Darim Altar for the second set, Illusion was much...

The rumours regarding NaDa's future being similar to Min-Chul "MC" Jang proves to be false, as SK-Gaming CEO Alex "TheSlaSH" Müller confirms that NaDa will not be heading to the German organization.

It was in mid-January that MC departed from oGs to join SK-Gaming full-time.

A couple of weeks later, it was reported by PlayXP that NaDa departed from oGs, which spew on the rumours of another possible signing over to SK-Gaming after the canceled partnership with Old Generations.

The SK-Gaming and Old Generations (oGs) deal included a partnership that meant the Korean duo was represented by SK in...

In comes the last Global Challenge for the sixth season of Intel Extreme Masters. Players, casters and fans all stream towards sunny Sao Paulo in Brazil as $21,000 and seeds to the World Championship in Hannover are put on the line.

By old IEM tradition, there shall be some StarCraft 2 days to remember by tournament's end on Saturday. The magic of eSports competition is always different at those ESL events as Carmac & Co are persistent in maintaining a diverse player pool that usually consistently delivers upsets, "God DAMN!"-moments, a large plethora of other pleasant emotions and, of course, moves worthy of the "Sick Nerd Baller" hoody. To the viewers new to the IEM experience, a very quick look at the contender line-up might suck them in a confusing whirpool: "who are these guys", "and those guys", "where did all those Brazillian come from", "how is...

PlayXP report, that as of February 1st, the eSports legend and Terran player Yoon Yeol "NaDa" is no longer part of team oGs. "I am willing to be part of a foreign team," says the StarCraft 2 veteran as he talks about his future.

After sixteen months of playing under the oGs banners since October 2010, NaDa is now teamless after his contract expired on January 31st this year. NaDa chose not to renew his contract, thinking that this is the time for new challenges.

- "I have delayed the mandatory military service by a year," says Nada. "I wanted a new start with the same mindset as when I first became a progamer. To be able to do this, I needed to give myself new challenges and motivation."

- "If conditions are right, I am willing to be part of a foreign team; it's also possible that I would accept personal sponsorship. With this new change, I want to solidify...

Six non-Koreans made their way to the first season of Code A matches for 2012 and half of them already found out their fate. How successful were our foreign superheroes SEn, Idra and HuK and shall we see them again in the next rounds?

At that point it was very much about pride. Advancing forward would be the mere result of defending it. For a long time, GSL has been the yardstick by which one’s dedicated practice was measured. And while Code S is still accounted as the highest podium to conquer on the StarCraft 2 scene, Code A is even tougher, more so for the foreign contenders.

Confused? Let me explain. Being beaten to a comatose state in Code S is no shame, obviously. Losing to the strong of the day is only natural and many talented, top tier players and even established champions do it, and often. However, although ruthless in terms of skill level, the Code S life is...

Just now, ESL announced the groups for the IEM Global Challenge Sao Paulo with SuperNova being the only Korean invite. The tournament, which is to start in five days time on February 8th, sees nine of the sixteen spots occupied by Zerg players.

IEM Sao Paulo is the last Global Challenge before the World Championship at CeBIT Hannover in March and will once again have sixteen players fighting for $21,000 as well as invites to the final tournament of the season.

Thus far, oGsSuperNova is the only Korean invite (excluding viOlet, who hails in from the United States), as two of the spots reserved for the Eastern representatives were given to sLivko and Snute. SuperNova shares a group with foreign Zerg duo Killer and DarkForce as well as the American Terran Illusion, who recently took second at the ONOG...

A new coalition has just been found between the foreign team eSahara, Korean-based Old Generations and gaming peripheral manufacturer Razer. The partnership is aimed towards providing foreigners with more opportunities to live and train in Korea and for Koreans to travel and compete outside their country.

eSahara has one of the younger SC2 rosters on the scene. Formed in July 2011, eSahara's line-up saw a considerable growth in the last few months, signing Korean and foreign players alike, including names like Naama, DeathAngel, BabyKnight and the ex-Prime members Check, HongUn and Maka.

oGs, on the other hand, is among the first Korean pro-teams that appeared on the SC2 stage and has enjoyed long periods of consistent performance. Its line-up hosts players such as BroodWar legend NaDa, Code S runner-ups TOP and InCa and MLG Orlando bronze medalist TheSTC.
