All participants decided for StarLadder StarSeries i-League Season 3 LAN finals

HellRaisers finalise the list of participants for the StarLadder StarSeries i-League Season 3 LAN finals after defeating Team EnVyUs 2-1.

The European qualifier for the StarLadder StarSeries i-League Season 3 LAN finals has finally concluded, with Fnatic, G2 Esports and HellRaisers securing spots at the LAN finals in Kiev, Ukraine. A total of sixteen teams participated in the European closed qualifiers for the $300,000 event, with a total of three spots up for grabs for the top teams. Fnatic managed to pass all competition off the bat, taking out Epsilon eSports and their academy team in 2-0 map scores. In the final of the initial bracket, the Swedes knocked out HellRaisers, who as we now know, managed to secure the final spot in the qualifier. Next up were G2 Esports, who showed a flawless performance throughout their bracket. In all three of their match-ups the Frenchmen made quick work of their opponents, keeping the best-of-three series short at two maps each. Finally, two teams that were knocked out last in the round of four, HellRaisers and Team EnVyUs faced off last night, with the European mix getting the better of the Frenchmen. It was quite the battle of titans in the end, with the entire series coming down to an overtime in map three.

Below you will find a brief recap of the series:

The Frenchmen kick off on a positive note, grabbing quite the lead during the initial half of de_Train. HellRaisers were unable to produce any solid results on the offense, leading to a significant 4-11 deficit come half time. After switching sides, neither team particularly showed spectacular results, however due to a stronger performance in the initial half, Team EnVyUs had the upper hand and consequently the first map, as the team secured the needed five rounds to close out de_Train.

Next was de_Mirage, a map that saw the most lop-sided performance of the series. HellRaisers absolutely dominate the initial half, constantly running away with rounds at the expense of their opponents. With this spectacular showing, the European mix managed to accrue a whopping total of 13 rounds in their favour prior to switching over to the CT side. Placed in quite the predicament, it was sink or swim for the Frenchies. On this occasion it seemed they were destined to sink, as HellRaisers go shoulder to shoulder in rounds to produce a 3-3 second half, and hence a 16-5 map score in their favour.

The final map of the series saw a grind for victory. The initial half saw an 8-7 T sided finish for HellRaisers, placing the team at a slight advantage going into the latter half. EnVyUs reciprocate their opponents' initial score, producing an 8-7 T sided score of their own, culminating in overtime. Unfortunately for the Frenchmen, HellRaisers were able to grab four rounds to two in the overtime, securing the best-of-three series and ultimately a spot at the LAN finals in Kiev.
