No StarCraft in ASUS Autumn 2008

In November the ASUS tournament series continues, but this time without StarCraft as one of the game disciples.

Just like in ASUS Summer 2008, the concept is "team spirit" which is a "thoughtful step on the rocky path of teams and gamers community consolidation". Back in the summer, the StarCraft tournament was played in a Korean ProLeague-styled manner with scarce player participation, and 99 percent of them from Russia. But when the autumn tournament kicks off in November, StarCraft is not on the list.

This time the tournament games are only team-based, with games as Counter-Strike, DotA, Call of Duty 4 and Quake 3.

In the summer, 9 teams signed up for the tournament. GosuGamers spoke with managers from various top teams in the StarCraft scene, who said that it was evidently too costly for foreign teams to send a 4-man-lineup to a tournament in Moscow with such a low prize pool.
