The Rules
Freedom of speech is very important to us, but we also believe that your rights end when they begin to affect another person negatively. GosuGamers.net is based in Sweden and thus follows the Swedish law.
§1. Harassment
Personal harassments, over the top swearing, insults, slander and racism are not allowed. Avoid being vulgar or rude at all times. Any opinion is allowed to be expressed, but not while insulting or offending other members. Complaints about admins from other sites should be taken up at that site.
§2. Inappropriate material
Pornography or illegal content is prohibited. Posting copyrighted material is not allowed. Neither is posting private information without previous consent. This includes addresses, emails, phone numbers and any type of sensitive information.
§3. Advertising and spam
Spamming is not allowed. This includes non-contributing/constructive posts. Commercial advertising without permission is not allowed. Web pages, clan advertisements and petitions are tolerated if they are of interest to the thread or the community.
§4. Account policy
Only one account per person is allowed. Impersonating another person to harm his/her reputation is not allowed.
§5. Language
Only English is allowed on the entire site. We are an international site and English is the language used so everyone can understand each other. Exceptions, in which any language is allowed, are: blogs, your personal profile, guestbook and PMs.
§6. Legal security
If you feel your case has been handled incorrectly, use this form to reach the moderators and other administrators. Refrain from voicing your complaints in the forums. These rules work as a guideline. They may, at any time, be overruled at the sole discretion of a moderator or administrator.
Consequences
Posts or comments breaking these rules will be censored or deleted and its user locked and/or warned depending on the severity of the post or comment. Generally a single warning results in a one week lock and a second in a one month or permanent lock. Accounts may be deleted.
The rules should be fairly straight forward. If you have questions about what constitutes "a non-contributing/constructive post" that can mean anything from spamming, to constantly typing "1st" or shutting down ideas/question without any reason or thought behind it. Basically it boils down to think before you post.
You are responsible for knowing the rules and they can be updated without notice. Of course, if there are major updates, like now, we will inform you. Not knowing the rules is not an excuse.
