Earlier today the first combatants in MBCGame StarLeague went at it. To avoid any spoilers, you may as well stop reading now.
The upper half of the brackets was played earlier today starting at 11:30. Starting the playoff show of the highly anticipated StarLeague was JulyZerg, mostly known to the international scene for his silver medal in World Cyber Games 2006. However, the SumoZerg has also impressive titles such as the famous KT-KTF Premier League back in 2004 and the Top 3 performances in StarLeagues in 2004 and 2005. His opponent of today was the CJ Entus TheMania, Terran player. Many thought (68% in GosuBet) JulyZerg would take down Mania, but Mania proved people wrong and took down the God of War.

The second game featured the two WCG Koreans, sAviOr (picture) and Stork. While Stork was the dominant player in Seattle, sAviOr showed that he was back in his real shape taking down the WCG champion with mass hydralisks.

Light went up against Kwanro, a match he was favored to win according to the GosuBet (69%), but another upset was a fact and the CJ Entus Zerg player Kwanro forced Light to throw in the towel. Lastly, the Terran mirror between XellOs and Canata ended in a win for the SKT1 player Canata.
The following four games will be played on 13th of October, starting at 11:30. The Blue Report will provide us with recaps from these matches, so stay tuned. Or if you're too eager too see them, go to the TeamLiquid Tracker and download them.
