Michael Tureniec Wins EPT Copenhagen

After a long heads-up battle, Swede Michael Tureniec emerged victorious against fellow Swede Per Linde to win the EPT Copenhagen main event for DKK 3,700,000 (€496,271). For Tureniec, he took the final step after his previous best a second to Michael Martin in the season five London EPT.

The final table started quite swiftly, losing three players in less than an hour, then slowed considerably when it got short handed. The heads-up duel lasted more than three and a half hours.

The final hand was a typical flip situation all in preflop with Tureniec holding A,J and Linde holding pocket 7's.

For Per Linde, despite his large chip lead to start the final table, the cards didn't seem to go his way most of the day. He still battled to get heads up, but had to settle for the runner up prize of DKK 2,450,000 (€328,612).

1st - Michael Tureniec, Sweden, DKK 3,700,000 (€496,271)

To recap a total of 449 players paid the DKK 37,250 to buy into EPT Copenhagen, creating a prize pool of DKK 15,086,400 (€2,023,496).
