World Cup 2 to take off

[s]event_177[/s]

WGTour is about to host Steelseries World Cup. It's the second time for the cup, but the first time with a sponsor. The first three placed teams will win Steelseries products, so the is more than glory at stake. In July we will know who the winners are.

Four teams are automatically qualified after their result in last year's World Cup tournament. Those are Spain Spain, Poland Poland, Russia Russia and Canada Canada. When the actual tournament starts there will be 16 participating teams, and to determine what nations except for the mentioned who will get a spot there will be determined by a group play, where the winners in eight groups consisting of four nations each will be qualified. That leaves four more spots, that will be played for among the second placed teams in the groups.

This is how the groups look like.

World Cup 2 Qualifying Groups
America 1 America 2 Western Europe Northern Europe
United States USA Peru Peru France France Sweden Sweden
Mexico Mexico Chile Chile Netherlands Netherlands United Kingdom United Kingdom
Colombia Colombia Argentina Argentina Austria Austria Norway Norway
Venezuela Venezuela Brazil Brazil Italy Italy Finland Finland
Central Europe Eastern Europe Balkans Oceania
Germany Germany Romania Romania Bulgaria Bulgaria Australia Australia
Slovakia Slovakia Belarus Belarus Greece Greece Taiwan Taiwan
Czech Republic Czech Republic Ukraine Ukraine Turkey Turkey Malaysia Malaysia
Hungary Hungary Estonia Estonia Croatia Croatia Vietnam Vietnam

The first round of matches must be finished before the end of April, and matches will be played in a format with five 1on1 matches that are all best out of three games. The first map is Longinus.

In the case of several teams all finishing at the same number of wins/losses, WGTour will use the following set of rules to determine who moves on and who don't.
-In the event of a two way tie, whoever won the match between the two teams will advance.

-In the event of a three way tie in the group, it will come down to total matches won for the three matches. If there is still a three way tie, it will come down to the ’small matches’ won. If the first case is met and there is only a two way tie, it will come down to whoever won the match between the two nations.

Cases will be handled as fairly as possible.
