The second day of action from Shanghai has concluded, with two Zergs pulling ahead of the rest.

China’s version of the GSL continued today with 4 more solid games from some of the region’s strongest players. The Gold Pro-League, organized by NetEase, is coming into its third and final season of the year before it’s grand finals just after the new year. The competitive event aims to showcase the strongest StarCraft II talents from the world’s most populous country.

Today marked the 2nd of seven consecutive days of Starcraft coming from the middle kingdom’s biggest names, notably iAsonu, who qualified for IEM GyeongGi and even took a game off of Zerg powerhouse Solar before losing out to the current world champion ByuN in the deciding match of the group.

Day 1 saw InvictusGaming’s line up show strong performances with three of their four representatives putting away their opponents handily. However, with the round robin format of this event, these eight are guaranteed to play everyone else, meaning even IG teammates will have to butt heads eventually, making things a little messier.

Day 2 begun with a Protoss vs Terran between two of yesterday unluckier players Cyan and Coffee, providing an opportunity for one of these players to recover and brush off the opening day defeat. Coffee has gained a reputation in China has one of the strongest Terrans in the country and the 17-year-old really showed it today, and he defeated his Protoss teammate 2-0.

Following this, iAsonu continued his good performance when he met Jieshi, who has previously played in the WCS premier league under the ID mystery. iAsonu was able to handle his Protoss opponent easily and took a 2-0 victory.

The penultimate set of the day happened to be the second team kill of the night, as IG's MacSed and XY  put their comradery behind them and battled. XY hoped to rebound after yesterday bad performance and he was able to do just that, putting away his long-time practice partner 2-0.

The final set featured two of Chinas more internationally successful players, with TooDMing taking on XiGua. The two WCS regulars gave the most competitive set of the day, taking it to the final game, but eventually Zenith's TooDming was able to edge out a 2-1 victory and remain at the top alongside iAsonu.
