32 players were welcomed into Dennis "TaKe" Gehlen's home to battle for $10,000. Now, only 8 remain.

Later today, the knockout stages of the HomeStory Cup XIV will begin. Krefeld, Germany welcomes an international cast of the world's best players ready to battle it out in a relaxed tournament where the winner will take home $10,000. The 14th season of the event, hosted by Dennis "TaKe" Gehlen, opened with the initial group stages, where 32 players would be reduced to just 16.
Group A saw aLive and Rogue moving on without much trouble as they strolled through the group with a string of quick games.
TY and Namshar graduated Group B in similar fashion, although Namshar was close to winning the group, barely losing a close winner’s match against TY 3-2.
In Group C uThermal was able to avenge his opening loss to Scarlett and defeat her 3-0 in the final match of the group to advance in 2nd place, behind the Korean powerhouse Stats.
Group D was the only group where a Korean player could have won, but didn’t as France’s little Dragon, PtitDrogo took a close 3-2 victory over Patience in the winner’s match against the eventual 2nd place qualifier.
The group of foreign hope saw Snute and Neeb push past HeroMarine and Stephano to advance, while Solar and SortOf emerged from Group F with a string of 3-0s.
In Group G MarineLorD was able to rebound from his early loss to TLO and advance in 2nd place behind sOs who advanced without dropping a game.
The final group of the day saw Zest and Elazer push their way past their French opposition and join the other 14 players in day 2.

Yesterday the competition began to heat up as the 16 who successfully navigated the group stages were told to do it all again and battle through 4 more tough groups, where half would again fall. This has left just 8 fearsome contenders with a chance to take home the money.

Day 2 went as follows:
sOs took the top spot for Group A while Stats had to slug it out with Namshar in the final match of the group where he was able to advance with his fellow Korean. This mostly set the tone for the day as of the remaining 6 places, all but 1 were claimed by Korean players.
Group B welcomed aLive and SortOf into the knockout stage of the event but had to say goodbye to Neeb and PtitDrago, the only foreign player to defeat a Korean so far in the tournament.
In a very close Group C, the Protoss players Patience and Zest were able to fight their way past their Terran opposition, TY and uThermal, making TY the first Korean player to drop from the event.
The final group witnessed the Korean Zergs Solar and Rogue move on, with Snute and MarineLorD failing to make the cut.

Here are the matchups going into the final day of the 14th HomeStory Cup:
