ShowTime is your WCS Spring Champion!

After two days of SC2 action we can finally crown our Dreamhack Tours Champion. ShowTime took on Nerchio in a BO7, after both had a long run to the final defeating some tough opponents along the way.

The day started off with the semi final of Seon Hoon "Polt" Choi against the Polish zerg Artur "Nerchio" Bloch. Bloch was looking for revenge after the 3-1 loss in the Ting Open group phase. He blasted the Korean terran away in a stunning 3-0 series where Polt never stood a chance against the awesome play from Nerchio.

In the second semi final the German protoss Tobias "ShoWTime" Sieber took on the Canadian terran Maru "maSa" Kim. They had never played against each other so the fans had hoped for a long and intriguing series, but ShoWTime wasn't obliging and just went for the 3-0 wipe against the Canadian.

Goiing into the final ShoWTime was looking for revenge, as in the last seven matches he was not able to win against the zerg plays of Nerchio. The games were not in favor of anyone at the start due to a number of extremely close fights, and the players traded over the first four encounters. The only fast game was game five, where ShowTime was looking to get his first match point by fast building the Dark Templars and Nerchio had to tap out.

However, in game 6 Nerchio was able to tie up the series so we could enjoy a decisive game seven. Goiing into the last game on Korhal Carnage Knockout, both players started with a basic build and nothing special to see. ShowTime spawned in alot of adepts in the the third base, taking down a lot of Nerchio's queens. With this strategy the German player was able to take home the Gold medal and secure a direct invite to the WCS Finals at Blizzcon
