The famous South Korean Terran player, Jung Hoon "MarineKing" Lee, has retired from professional StarCraft II.

MVP team manager Felix "JeeF" Jedelhauser broke the news on Friday.

MarineKing's retirement comes after a failed attempt to qualify for GSL Code A.

This isn't the first time that MarineKing has retired. In 2013, he left StarCraft II to play League of Legends before returning in early 2014. Currently, there are no announcements of MarineKing's plans for the future.

MarineKing leaves StarCraft II fans with a glowing history. After a string of repeated silver medals throughout major and premier tournaments, he broke the Kong curse and became the first player to win two consecutive Major League Gaming titles. He boasts top finishes across MLG and GSL events, including second at the 2011 GSL Championship and the 2014 Hot6ix Cup. While his results declined in recent years, his legacy is one that truly deserves the title of Prime.
