The Main Tournament of WCA is starting today

The qualifiers of World Cyber Arena are over and the Main Online Tournament is just about to begin.

World Cyber Arena is a global eSports tournament hosting gaming titles such as Warcraft III, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Hearthstone, Dota 2, and of course StarCraft II. WCA 2016 consists of three seasons and the higher ranked players will meet each other in the Grand Finals, which are to be held in December. 

The applications had been open for professional players of Asian citizenship, excluding China, from April 1st to April 7th. Regarding China, the Group Stages have been completed with iAsonu, TooDming from Group A and Cyan, XiGua from Group B being qualified for the Playoffs. In the Semifinals, which will take place on April 16th and April 17th, iAsonu will meet Cyan, while XiGua will confront TooDming.

Regarding the rest of Asia, the Playoffs are beginning today with Terran players dominating. Curious meets GuMiho, Patience meets Symbol, aLive meets Ryung, and, finally, ByuN meets Seed. All matches will be held on the same day and, thus, the Quarterfinals results are expected to be announced later today. 

The StarCraft II Prize Pool is ¥100,000 CNY (~$15,330 USD) out of which ¥ 50,000 (~$7,670) will be given to the player who manages to reach the first place. You can board on the hype train watch the matches here.
