Chris "HuK" Loranger took out Quantic's Maru "MaSa" Kim 4-0 to take the $2,500 of SCA:Winter. This is HuK's third first place finish this year after the MLG Summer Invite and LANHAMMER '13.
Shoutcraft America Winter took an unexpected turn with the fourth quarter final, played at 18:00 last night. Matched against the tournament favorite Scarlett, US underdog Hitman took a surprising 3-1 victory over the NorthCon grand finalist to prevent total Canadian supremacy and advance to the playoffs. Hitman would also become HuK's second victim of the tournament. After slaying fellow EG team-mate DeMuslim, HuK went on to take a 3-1 to Hitman's face and move on to the final match.
His opponent in MaSa was already waiting there. The Canadian Terran had gone through Minigun and defending champion Kane with 3-1 and 3-2 respectively and was looking to take his first big championship.
The match between the Canadians ended up the only to-zero series in the tournament as HuK took four in a row to stop MaSa's run. The EG Protoss will take home $2,500 of winnings, leaving $1,200 to the runner-up and $450 to the semi-finalists.
