New Proleague this December, ex-eSF teams rumored to join KeSPA

The new Proleague season for StarCraft 2 is scheduled to start in December, said KeSPA chief executive Jeon Byung Heon in a recent education seminar. Hints for a LoL Proleague and ex-eSF teams like Prime, IM and MVP joining KeSPA were also dropped.

Originally, the new season Proleague was to start this November as PGR21 reported in early September. According to KeSPA chairman Jeon Byung Heon, however, the launch date has been moved to December as to give participating organizations more time to prepare.

It is still not clear what the team line-up for the new Proleague will be. The dissolution of EG-TL and with SouL losing their STX sponsorship and moving to eSF had left the tournament two teams shorter. Additionally, Woongjin's release of six players in October as well as the departures of Flying and Light earlier had left the team with a thin roster of five players, too thin to be an adequate Proleague competitor. That meant that the next Proleague could be left with just five teams.

The presence of Prime, IM and MVP member at KeSPA's progamer education seminar held today, however, hints that the teams might join the ranks of KeSPA and thus fill up the empty Proleague spots. The three organizations left eSF on September 1st this year and their move to KeSPA has been rumored since, despite nothing official being disclosed from teams' heads.

The Proleague teams currently are CJ Entus, Jin Air Greenwings, KT Rolster, SK Telecom and Samsung Galaxy.
