STX SouL make Proleague playoffs, KHAN and SKT to race for the last spot

After a 3-2 in series this round and building upon their excellent performance in rounds 3-5, STX SouL become the third team to advance to the SK Planet Proleague finals on the back of a 4-1 against CJ Entus.

With the competition in the middle of the table between the 3rd and 5th places being so close, the playday of June 24th was of utmost importance. A win against the already eliminated CJ Entus or the certain to play in the grand finals Woongjin Stars would mean playoffs spot for either of STX and SKT but a failure would give Samsung KHAN the chance to go two for zero in the last week and edge one of those teams out of the top four.

Luckily for STX, their recovery after the crushing loss on Saturday was most effective. SouL used the same line-up which was all-killed by Woongjin on June 22nd and scored four in a row against CJ Entus - including one nail-biter between Classic and Effort - to climb up to 22 wins, the magical number which ensured their advancement to the top four.

While SK Telecom were given the same chance, Woongjin Stars made sure the struggles of Boxer's team continue. Knowing there's nobody to threaten their #1 position, Woongjin led in with less used players like Light and Bravo before bringing in the heavy cavalry in sOs, Flying and Soulkey. The end result - a 4-1 crush that barred SKT from the top four for the time being and left them in competition with Samsung KHAN.

The race will be decided by July 9th as both teams have two more matches to play. SKT are to face EG-TL and Team 8 (on July 6th and 9th, respectively), while KHAN's games are against round robin winners Woongjin Stars and then CJ Entus (on July 7th and 9th).
