Jaedong Joins Evil Geniuses

Team EG has just announced its newest recruit: none other than the Tyrant Zerg himself, Jaedong.

Update: This appears to be a 1 year loan. If Team Eight acquires a corporate sponsor before the year is out, then Jaedong will automatically return to Team Eight. Jaedong will stay for a full year. Source.

That Korean players would join foreign teams was obvious. The same couldn't necessarily be said of KeSPA's players. Superstars like Jaedong, Flash and Bisu were just too big, too important, to stay anywhere but home. It's a testament to their importance and to the greatness of their figures that it was just unimaginable for a foreign team to one day boast of having signed one of TaekBangLeeSsang.

But here we are, days away from the annoucement that Team Liquid and Evil Geniuses would be joining forces to take on KeSPA's Proleague . If their combined lineup was strong enough to brave the once unassailable frontier, then Jaedong's addition can only strengthen that pantheon - and then take it even farther.

JD's first match under the EG banner will be on December 8th when he'll play Stats in the Proleague opening match between EG-TL and KT Rolster.
