DreamHack to be broadcasted on regular Swedish television

The DreamHack EIZO Open kicks off this weekend. The start for the Swedish organization's 2012 season was even more gilt-edged yesterday as they revealed that the tournament will be broadcasted on ground distributed television in Sweden, a landmark in the nation's eSports history.

The DreamHack tournaments has over the years been closely collaborating with Swedish Television's web service SVT Play, but the eSpots productions have yet to air on regular television.

In a press release issued out yesterday, DreamHack's press officer Fredrik Nyström explains that SVT Play will be their exlusive media partner for the Swedish audience during the DreamHack EIZO Open tour.

- "The interest for live broadcasted eSports has increased with an incredible speed and we are very happy that together with SVT offer more from the DreamHack competitions during the year," says Tomas Hermansson, Head of DreamHack Esports. He added, "DreamHack produce hundreds of hours of livestreamed eSports every year and SVT will broadcast parts of the best matches."
