Blizzard announce 2012 Battle.net World Invitational, BlizzCon postponed until 2013
Posted by Radoslav "Nydra" Kolev 28 days ago

It was confirmed on Battle.net that Blizzard will not host their annual convention in 2012. Instead, the company's attention will be focused on their upcoming titles and the next edition of the Battle.net World Invitational.
In October 2011, Anaheim hosted the Battle.net World Invitational that brought together some of the best StarCraft 2 players and World of WarCraft 3v3 arena teams. This year, the show is moving out of the United States and will travel to Asia.
The announcement of the Bnet World Invitational comes with the news that there will be no BlizzCon held this year. The annual convention will not return until 2013 because of Blizzard's busy schedule, that includes three titles currently under development.
Blizzard Wrote:
Slated to take place in Asia toward the end of 2012, the Battle.net World Championship will host this year’s StarCraft II and World of Warcraft Arena World Championship tournaments. Blizzard gamers and eSports fans from around the world will be invited to attend and witness some of the most skilled pro players on the planet battle it out for cash and glory.
We’re excited to be showcasing Blizzard eSports on a truly global stage this year. We're also heavily focused on getting Diablo III, Mists of Pandaria, and Heart of the Swarm into players’ hands as soon as possible. In light of our jam-packed schedule, we’ve decided to hold the next BlizzCon in 2013.

why bother make blizzcon when world ends in 2012 anyway?
this is why the world ends in 2012...
whatever..
#2 hahaahhahahahah
Makes no sense, if the world ends 2012, it should be postponed 2013 not this year lol. Nice for bnet world invitational. I expected HotS rdy around xmas, not ok then May 2012 or July 27th? No further date will be accepted.
Hopefully it's not another beta tournament. People still play WOW competitive?
Warcraft 4 or Titan project????? conclusion 1, they want it to be in asia so maybe china for warcraft 4 or mmo. conclusion 2, they have no time so they are developing something. and stop talking abou the whole end of the world thing, if you keep talking about it, it might happen for real.
Well it's because Diablo 3 won't be released this year coz it failed in its development.. and the Titan project won't be announced publicly anytime soon
Conclusion 1. Easy visas and free vacation for the boys. Conclusion 2. They're way over schedule on Diablo and Swarm, because of WOW.
Feels like Diablo III is unreachable.
however no costume contest makes me kinda sad ;(
to read between the lines: We wont have anything new to show in 2012, so we might aswell schedule the next BlizzCon for 2013 since we might have made some progress untill then.
Then no SC2 this year. Only DotA gaming.
Since Blizz don't care about SCBW I am not interested of this event.
