Stephano, Kas, Sheth, Destiny, Violet. These are only some of the sixteen names that will take part in the online cup this weekend, aiming to snatch that $1,500 first place prize.
Everybody knows and loves the BarCraft experience. By growing more popular by the day, the movement that brings people together around pints of beer and StarCraft 2 matches on the TV is now to give something to the pro-players as well. A total of sixteen players have been invited and they will go through a group stage on Saturday and and a playoffs bracket on Sunday to determine the winner.
ONOG has invited all kinds of pro-gamers: from the well-established high-tier names like IPL 3 winner Stephano, IEM Kiev bronze medalist Kas and Empire's newest addition and long-time GSL contender ViOlet through Quantic's female star Flo and even ESL's shoutcaster Rotterdam.

Like the names in the tournament and nice to see some from the states.
And hopefully Flo will make some good results! :)
I think everyone can give really good games! But the favorites in this tournament probably is stephano/sase/Sheth/kas/Tyler.... But machine/destiny/catz/rotterdam can be pretty tricky so i think we can get really good games.
Stephano/Sase/Kas/Destiny :) Top4
Oh boy, InControll has a chance to be at least top6 :)
SaSe,Kas,viOLet and Stephano will be top4
Agreed with #6.
Hahaha, Group A with RotterdaM. Ahhh, poor Rotti!
Lol Rotti gonna get crushed ... he stands a chance against Catz though. Looks like a fun tournament, looking forward to it.
#10 Ok lets put it like this? You either dislike him or just think hes bad? Commentating like that wont get you anywhere. Just say hes bad if you think so. More concrete rather than that.
#11, FLo is a girl not a "him" as you refer ... lmao -_______- Stephano or viOlet win this ;)
#11 If u didn't know. Flo is a "she" not "he" ^^
#13 yeah i know, wrong typo :)
Major typo as you wrote wrong 3 times xD #10 So what? Of course that had something to do with it, but it is fun to watch and hopefully it will inspire more woman to participate and play more. Just the fact that she is a girl and has comed this far probably means she has dealt with more hardship than you ever have and hence has made better progress in life from her initial standpoint. Sometimes people get opportunities because they are strong or smart, not only because of skills alone - which is a good thing.
Flo can win the entire tournament, but nevertheless women wont get significantly inspired by her win, since it isnt girls domain (actually theyre apparantly smart enough not to sit hours infront of the life sucking machine playing socalled esports). Doesnt matter anyway. Sponsors wont support female gamers and a potential gain of the female progamer scene in the same extent they would support male ones. They assume men are more interested in buying pc stuff. As Simply as that. #10 is kinda right, although it sounds appropiate... Its like my friends on TS are telling me: "oh look, Flo/aphrodite is streaming. I am gonna watch her." (theyre not terran and dont look male terrans usually, additionally they could watch better terrans, whose play is more attractive to watch.) Its a weird effect. A woman enters a male domain and no matter how ugly she is (wont jugde their level of attractivity), she is so fricking attractive for everyone. But in terms of #10s anticipation, that she wont win a single map, i do agree. Well, i dont know luckyfool. Maybe she surprises and gets a win from her series with him. Best way of supporting female progamers: Dont attempt anything for increasing interest of women, but do respect individuals as a serious programer, by not giving her any special treatment. Obviously, many wont agree because of narrow-mindedness, but I would transfer this opinion at any point of time on soccer/football. Its just girls moving in a male domain. And Rotterdam. Maaan. I am really curious how hes gonna come off :) Certainly, he wont make it out of the groups, but its nice to see a commentator participating. Normally, he judges, lets see how he will get judged. And lets see if Destiny will destroy his groub since he has stated he improved so much in korea. At the end, I do agree with #6.
Flo is in InControl's group. Finally InControl will win one set. xD
#17 Or not... :P Stephano, Sheth, Kas, Sase and Violet are the favorites. We will see, maybe there will be some upsets because lately, there were a lot of upsets. And no, Destiny probably won't leave his group, but I will root for him! :P
Wow, a group InControl might actually get second place in
what #10 said, just silly that they invite girls to these "big" tournaments. Let them have their little once a year female only tours if they arent good enough to compete at the actual skill lvl that these cups require. The same could be said about the north american players with the exception of Sheth, although its an American tournament to begin with which I guess is the reason for their invites.
"One Nation of Gamers" made me think; Cool, a tournament with one player from each nation, kinda like a nations war. Then when I scroll down to the player list I realize that 10 out of 16 players are from the same country, and one of the lesser SC2 countries at that. I don't see the point in inviting every player who has ever started Starcraft 2 in the US to the tournament.
Why's everyone talking about flo.. NO ONES GOT A CHANCE AGAINST LUCKYFOOL! GoGoGo LuckyFool Fighting~~~
Invitation of Flo seems smart in terms of luring audience. No real need and also no way of different and reasonable justification. Starcraft2-wise it's a useless addition. But why not complain about half of other players that are as mediocre as she is? Also, (#15) what does it change that she had a difficult way to go? She's still far from top in this game. Like sc2 tours were a charity that invites people who faced the most hardships in life.
Apart from that it will be a good tour for those unknowns to check their skills (but with exactly only 4 players actually counting)
Pff all you haters need to get a hobby or something! Fine, whatever, women are given special treatment but I think the abuse they receive far outweigh the benefits. Rarely do you see a player get so much crap in a tournament that hasn't even started. And please stop comparing SCII to football it's wrong in so many ways. And in case you didn't notice not many female football players play in male teams/leagues. E-sports is one of the few sports where men and women can compete on equal terms. Yes men are more interested and there are more male nerds etc so there is absolutely no need to give the few women who give it a shot this kind of treatment. Just get over it.
WildTZ: It is not true that man and women can compete on the same terms in SC. It has already been debated in many long inteviews (some on teamliquid couple of years back) by (arguably) the best korean women progamer TossGirl and other women commentators in korea. There are many more differences between man and women than just physical endurance or strenght.
we already all know top4 of this tour ...
