SunCow signed by mTw, released the next day

Posted by Radoslav "Nydra" Kolev 4 months ago
On January 16th, team mTw recruited Polish Zerg player David "SunCow" Al-Dughaither. One day later, however, the Brood War veteran was released from the foreign team as it became clear that Al-Dughaither has been knowingly withholding information that would impede his duties to mTw.

In the Brood War days, SunCow was an active member of MYM and made a name of himself by living and training in Korea and placing second at WCG Poland 2005 and YMBC Korea TV. Al-Dughaither was to start his professional StarCraft 2 career under the mTw flag but one day later the foreign team announced that there has been a "huge misunderstanding".

According to mTw, SunCow, currently residing in Dubai, has withheld valuable information concerning his past and his inability to travel and compete in European events. Various other sources point to the latter being due to Al-Dughaither's criminal record, although the details surrounding the case are unclear.

- "Today we have to to say goodbye to David 'SunCow' Al-Dughaither," reads the official statement of Team mTw. "Like we found out afterwards, David knowingly withheld important informations from us. Some of these informations involve his past which we won't discuss in detail at this point though. Unfortunately it is impossible for David to take part in European tournaments. Sadly this is nothing that fits our plans for the year 2012."

he was on probation (parole?) from the robbery when he got into the fight,.

besides all that, shows his caliber of a player/person to try and get away lying to his new team like that..?! I hope no other team makes the mistake of picking him up.

#13 Surely the fact as a progamer you can't travel to any european events would cross you mind when signing with a european based team. Not saying anything is the same thing as lying

The link #2 gave seems not to be working anymore, but here is the new one:

I thought progamers (if we can call him progamer) are quite calm and nice people in real life, at least they are no criminals among them, but there always must be some excepition :D

By the way, this guy lived in my city ^^ Dunno why, but I almost feel proud of it.

#21 Mistrzzz hates starcraft2 and plays other games actively while giving poker a chance. ( saw some of his friends posting it on tl.net before )

Btw this incident with Suncow was just hilarious. And he should have figured out by himself that he cant travel to any european country because hes probably going to get arrested. And by joining mTw means traveling. Just dumb if you ask me.

It's not like its very common that any starcraft player have been criminals and teams needs to do checkups on them. But i guess this helped someway.

This was the link that gave information about police searching for him and wants help with information where hes located right now. http://poszukiwani.policja.pl/poszukiwany/al-dughaither-master-7332.html

Guess someone helped them because the information is gone. This link leaked out in the teamliquid.net thread.
