mTw player Dima "DIMAGA" Filipchuk defated GosuGamers Mattias "Naugrim" Ottosson in the ESL Go4SC2 #83 final in a zerg mirror match.
Naugrim, having previously taken out ClouD and MorroW to mention some, went in to the first game against DIMAGA on the iCcup Testbug map. DIMAGA, killing off DieStar and Beastyqt to reach the final, went for a zergling heavy start. Hoping to end it early with his initial 32 zerglings, the Ukrainian went in for the kill, but Naugrim's 15 lings and six banelings could hold it off to directly after counter and kill every worker in DIMAGA's base. DIMAGA could just barely hold it off, but after a futile attempt to attack back with roaches, Naugrim could take the first game, standing his ground.
Second game, on Lost Temle, we saw the same 15-pool early baneling build for both players.DIMAGA was able to win the game with a better micro, and held off Naugrim's offensive zergling roach pressure. Keeping with the defensive stance, DIMAGA macroed up and reached into Naugrim's mineral line with a set of banelings to seal the deal.
DIMAGA also went on to take the third game, on the bigger map iCCup Pawn Re. Naugrim tried with a baneling/zergling early attack on DIMAGA's early expansion, but with slick sensors, DIMAGA moved his drones back in time to not lose any. DIMAGA then felt ahead in finances throughout the game, and his hydralisk pitch to the roach army was successful against Naugrim's roach only troop.
On Metalopolis, we saw Naugrim outnumber DIMAGA's roach/zergling troop, after the Ukrainian failed to to any damage with his picked baneling opening. DIMAGA's attempt to sneak in with three banelings was stopped when Naugrim saw them getting morphed in just outside his expansion.
DIMAGA's winning moment on Xel'Naga Caverns were the many zergling surrounds on Naugrim's early roaches. With on-going pressure with speedlings on Naugrim's expansion, Naugrim could never get his economy up and running, forcing to keep pushing out roaches and zerglings to defend. DIMAGA then got his own expansion up, and moved over to a baneling, zergling, roach mix against Naugrim's roach, zergling duo. With another surround in the middle of the map, Naugrim GGs and DIMAGA is crowned the Go4SC2 #83 champ.
