The American Zerg player Greg "IdrA" Fields will be coming home to USA for the MLG Washington D.C. event. The homecoming will only be temporary, as IdrA feels South Korea is still the place to be for StarCraft.

- "I'll be staying here to play in [the GSL]," says IdrA to MLGPro.com prior to the D.C. event. "I have great hopes that European and North American leagues can catch up to Korea with the release of SC2, but for now Korea is still the place to be for StarCraft."

Earlier this year IdrA left the StarCraft: Brood War progaming team CJ Entus to instead team up with Evil Geniuses. This after IdrA being tired of the rigid practice schedule and the lack of freedom that came with it.

- "We practiced for 12 to 13 hours a day, had around two hours of free time during the day, and got, on average, two days off a month—couldn't really leave the house other than that."

- "A big part of the reason I left was that I began to feel it was counter-productive; we were overworking ourselves. So I still make sure I practice a lot, but not too much."

The Intel Extreme Masters stop in Cologne ended in a silver medal for IdrA after being dispatched by Terran player MorroW in the final.

Entering the MLG, IdrA sees all Terran players to be dangerous, but admits that the Protoss trio HuK, KiWiKaKi and White-Ra are the hardest ones to beat. All the while, he does take an opportunity to talk down on the Protoss race.

- "Protoss is the simplest race to get good at, though it’s very difficult to improve from that point, so a lot of people choose Protoss and they do well in mid- level competitions."

Despite that, he expects to win.
