$170,000 is up for grabs in the GOMTV Global Starcraft II League in South Korea, though a few Liquid members and one from MYM and a few others have managed to make their way in!

Update We've just recieved confirmation that Jinro was unable to qualify

When the tournament was first announced with a prize pool of $170,000 the buzz was incredible. People checking their bank accounts to see if they could afford to fly over at the chance, and if it was worth all of it. For three Liquid players it was and a few more who were already in Korea.

Over the two qualification days, the numbers will be brought from 2000 to 64. With each day 1000 gamers vying for one of the 32 spots.

You may be wondering why Idra is clanless?
Fomos: You're still CJ player as far as I know, did you have any problems entering the league?
Idra: I was in CJ, but I left already. My contract ends the 31st of this month, and since it's almost over, I joined GSL.

There you have it, the first 32 of 64 players that have qualified for the finals. Included in day one, the races total are 15 Protoss, 11 Terran and 6 Zerg. Best of luck to all the foreign players, you've got everyone cheering you on!

(Big thanks to Passenger for translating the players!)

Tester left oGs a while ago cause he didn't like the training schedule or something, partly the same reason IdrA left CJ

Statement from IdrA on TL:
i havent read the thread but id like to post a bit of a clarification cuz i think some of the connotation of what i said was lost in the translation of that interview, if someone could translate this and post it on a korean site thatd be awesome too

i didnt mean it as a slight to kespa or cj and my decision had absolutely nothing to do with the political situation between kespa/blizzard. i left because after almost 2 and a half years i wasnt really enjoying the progaming lifestyle anymore, the long hours and lack of freedom, and with star2 i feel ill have opportunities to do professional gaming without living like that. i said kespa teams because they all function that way, not because i didnt want to be associated with kespa. also id like to thank cj both for my time with them and for how supportive theyve been of my decision to leave.

Sounds like Idra couldn't cut it in real pro-gaming. Its like a pro basketball player quitting the league because he didn't want to go to practice.

Also, I'm pretty sure they were "supportive of him leaving" because he is the most BM pro ever... and never won anything..

Testor and Fruitseller left ogs for while, because they wanted to have more free time instead of practicing for whole days
