Final Video from Join the Dominion.

Posted by "Puremiss" 1 year ago
Blizzard has release the final treat for the community after 100% completion in the "Join the Dominion" event.

There is nothing to write that could possibly give the intro that could come close to how mindblowing this Starcraft 2 teaser trailer is... Simply brace yourself for an amazing two and a half minute thrill ride that is going to make Starcraft fans itch to get their hands on this game and join Jim Raynor's saga across the stars.

If you have a new found urge to play the single player campaigns after watching that... you are not alone.

Ridiculous quality animation....just ridiculous...

I wonder what it would cost Blizzard to make a full length Starcraft movie like this?

I've already watched it twice...watching again...

I mean, can the in game movies REALLY be THIS good?

Let's say they have one movie every third or 4th map, which was the pattern in Broodwar, plus a prologue movie (Tychus Finlay suiting up,) and an epilogue movie, and it's ~30 mission campaign, that'd be like nine or ten movies, maybe even eleven, of maybe 2 or 3 minutes each...

That's simply amazing.

considering this is a trailer, some of these scenes could either be stand alone movies, or excerpts from different actually "in game" movies throughout the campaign...

I haven't seen anything remotely of this quality before from any other gaming or movie company. This is animated, but parts of it are so good they almost look like they were done on blue screen...

Blizzard DID say they broke the third party rendering software and had to make their own from scratch to get the quality they wanted, but goodness. This is truly mind blowing quality.

IM SOOOOOOO GONNA PLAY THE CAMPAIGN OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN :D

#6, it actually takes Blizzard a ridiculous amount of time into making a 3-4 minute cinematic just because of the detail they put into it. What you see in that trailer is a mix between in-game cinematics and pre-rendered cinematics.

The dialogue between Horner, Tychus, and Raynor are all in-game, while Zeratul, Kerrigan, and Mengsk are pre-rendered. The fights on Char between lings and marines are in-game as well.

A full length movie of about 1.5 hours would probably mean Blizzard doubling or even tripling their already massive cinematic department to have a movie done in maybe 4-5 years? That's a rough estimate...I could be wrong...it could take longer and more man hours...

19:

Yes, they would completely EMBARRASS the existing film industry.

They are going to make so much money off the game anyway that a movie would practically be guaranteed to be profitable, and why not with this kind of talent and tools?

Lol.

Guy on youtube says, "Marines are op now. Jimmy owned a hydralisk."

Jimmy always owned the hydralisk, with that 200hp, 18+1 damage, and I think 3 points of armor.

I love Jim Raynor. He and Zeratul are the only "honourable" characters left alive from the vanilla campaign.

Always loved how he is like on the front lines with his men fighting.

sounds like Raynor is saying he is "going back to jar" but he is obviously saying "going back to Char" (the planet)

That's Gabriel Tosh I believe:
http://starcraft.wikia.com/wiki/Gabriel_Tosh (possible spoilers)
I think he'll be a fairly important character.

To further get excited by the quality of the game, and to learn a bit more about Tosh, check out the SC2 voice actors panel from last year:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKB-72szKI4 (contains mild spoilers, no more so than the video though).
