Chassi - Coolermaster Mid tower Haf 4 fans inside ( no overheating :D) Ram - 4gb Windows 7 64bits GFX - Sapphire Radeon HD 5770 1GB I5 2.66 Ghz runs smoothly at ultra but i still prefer medium
if they dont consider the resolution as issue of how much weight the game is putting on your pc then its a joke to right down some requirements.
im playing on medium (it looks fine and the battles are clear) and it dont lag or it lags only every 7-8 minutes and its a slight lag i can play like this i think ... until i get new PC :P (half a year i think)
#40 #51 +1 Exactly what I will do. I can play this on high but will definitely stick on medium cauz it gets rid of a lot of useless special effects and I cant see jack shit with them.
It's so pathetic how the nerds are talking BIG about their computers, which was bought by their fathers.
#55 lols i had to work at macdonald and at a store called ICA to build my computer. im 18 years old but i had to save for 9months to get it
hey is geforce 8400 GS is below or above the minimum?
Its ok for me :) Intel i5-750 4gb of ram Kingston ATI HD5770 1gb I think its enough :)
I've only got 1.9 GHz processor and I run with 60+ fps on low settings............
lol @ #13 ... xD
I was planning of buying a new PC anyway, but because of SC2, I will most likely buy it sooner. Nothing fancy or top notch, just a simple i5-750 at 2.66 Ghz, 4 GB RAM, and a HD 4870. It should run the game on Ultra but I'm planning on running it on Medium or High at the most ( from what I saw, there's not that much of a difference between Medium-High and Ultra, so there's no real point in overheating anything and consuming twice the power ).

It looks like that to me when I use my gtx280 :( too bad it broke and is taking forever to get repaired.
Phenom 2 X4 940 @ 3.6 OC'ed. 4GB DDR2 1066mhz, 5-5-5-15 Gskill. ATI Diamond HD 5850. And i still dont have a decent performance (talking exclusively about SCII obviously). The fact is that this game is bad progammed, isnt using even 20% of my video card, and only uses 2 core´s of the processor, im very dissapointed, i should get 300fps+++ even @ 4v4 with everyone 200/200, blizz plz fix the HD 5800 series perfomance/mouse bug issues, its pretty annoying to be forced to restart the computer when the mouse cursor gets corrupted, frustating...
News of system requirements gone e-penises contest!.... -_- Well, seems like I'll be able to play it.
The recommended graphics card is bs. I have an E8500 running at 3,9 ghz with a radeon 4870 and cant run the game at ultra satisfying, 60 constant FPS. With Ultra settings the FPS are 50 to 30. With my setup at High settings in heavy fights the FPS drops down to 45-50 which in my opinion is unacceptable for "recommended" computer specs. So in fact, i would say that the recommended settings are way higher than the stated ones, atleast if you want to run at High / Ultra. With a recommended setup imho the game should never drop down below 60 FPS. At low settings i get 370 FPS and down to 70 during the heaviest fights, so basically thats a constant 60 FPS which what i demand. Obviously my graphics card doesn't handle the game good enough in my opinion. To #61 - Radeon 4870 is to weak imho, aim for a 4890 if you can find a cheap one or GTX 460 1gb.
it seems i can play it on my laptop.
sc2 on max ! here i come :D
Ah crap... I have been looking at my computer components, and I don't think there is much room for improvement in my video card, because I think my Motherboard only has PCI Express x16, and not PCI Express 2.x x16. I've only checked one site so far, but I've only found two compatible video cards, and I'm not even sure the first is actually be than my existing card...and the second is designed for a low profile computer, which my computer is not... My existing card is is getting kind of old, but I've never needed anything better before. I would like to buy the most powerful compatible card available, instead of a whole new computer. Radeon X1800xt 256mb gddr3 RAM 625MHz core speed (back of the box) 512bit memory controller (back of the box) Here are the compatible cards This is the "Deluxe" version of the same card I already have. It looks like the main difference is double the RAM. Based on the information below, this card is actually better than the other two potential cards I looked at, because it has 512 mb for real, and it's core clock and memory clock are much faster, and it is still compatible, but the problem is I couldn't find where anyone still sells it.... It appears the deluxe version is the exact same, except it has double the RAM, but there may be other issues involved. http://reviews.cnet.com/graphics-cards/ati-radeon-x1800-xt/4507-8902_7-31530059.html ====== This one Has same RAM, but then says "512mb turbo cache" I do not know what difference that makes, if any. It sounds like it should theoretically be better (than my current card), but I know these experimental caching technologies are not always as effective as they were meant to be. However, the clock speed and memory interface are BOTH lower than my existing card, so I doubt this card is actually better than the one I already have. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500165&cm_re=512mb_pc i_express_x16_video_card_nvidia-_-14-500-165-_-Product This one is designed for low profile computer, but has better RAM than my existing card, but a smaller memory interface and slower clock speeds, which again means it probably isn't actually better than my existing card.... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx ?Item=N82E16814139031&cm_re=512mb_pci_express _x16_video_card_nvidia-_-14-139-031-_-Product If anybody knows of a card that is better than the RadeonX 1800xt 512mb, and is compatible with PCI Express x16, please let me know. If not, then if you know where I can purchase a left-over RadeonX 1800xt 512mb card, let me know. Based on other pricing of even better cards which are not compatible, I think the price is probably going to be in the $25 to $50 range, if anyone actually finds it... TIA.
Yes, strangely, based on the box, my Motherboard is both Dual Core and Quad Core compatible, but appears to have only PCI Express x16. I think this was one of the first Quad Core compatible boards. And yeah, the core clock and memory clock speeds for the Radeon card absolutely is far superior to the Zotac card, so I doubt whatever "Turbo Caching" is makes up for it. Again, pretty sure the only compatible card in existence that is actually better is the deluxe version of the card I already have...I hope there are still some for sale somewhere...
Sorry, not trying to hijack the thread, but I found this card is compatible, and has slightly faster clock speed than the 1800xt http://reviews.cnet.com/graphics-cards/ati-radeon-x1900-xtx/4507-8902_7-31678172.html?tag=specs Now this card has the "Crossfire" ability to link two cards to work on the same thing....and I have two PCI Express x16 ports... Here is my motherboard specifications... http://www.neoseeker.com/Articles/Hardware/Reviews/ga965p_dq6/ Is this motherboard compatible with Crossfire and if so would it be worth it to buy two of the radeon x1900xtx? (assuming I can find them?) The 1800xt that I already have is also crossfire compatible, but I thought both cards had to be the same model to work together? Again, TIA.
Looks like I am SCREWED. Due to the compatibility issue, the card I need is still valued very high, and I could damn near buy an entire new computer with a BETTER processor, Ram and video card, for the price people are STILL asking for the video card alone...
Ok, it took some digging, but I believe this is absolutely the best compatible video card for my PC in existence, and it is ironically cheaper than the cards that are only half the RAM. It is also Crossfire compatible, so I could actually order two of them I guess. http://www.eworldsale.com/ews_product_8819_42540.html b>
is my intel core 2 duo 1.83 GHz CPU enough?
AMD Phenom X4 Black Edition @ 3,4 Ghz Sapphire ATi Radeon 5870 1024MB GDDR5 GoodRam 8GB DDR3 @ 1600 Mhz Works fine on ultra ;P If you use Vista or Win7 you should have those 4GB cause 2GB might just not be enough and its always good to have a few GB reserve left. As for the graphic card I can recommend the Radeon 5770, 5850 and 5870 and of course its good to have a dual core processor ;P
#50 same, also have lag problem on low setting - cant play problem is my graphix card, and since its a laptop i cant change it b/c its integrated into motherboard... means, id have to change motherboard... which means might as well get a new comp
