Our discussion's become way too spacious for a Guestbook, so I moved it to PMs (sent you PM).

ON A DOG? Are these guys for real? So, let us have an international mutilated dog day while the economy is going down the drain, unemployment rate is constantly rising and we have countries like North Korean threatening everybody with nukes...

Well, what do you expect anyway. I believe most of your media is owned by the FOX corporation which is notorious for its cheap publicity stunts, falsifying information and pretty much serving the US government.

Another major war would rattle the foundation of our society to say the least and if it gets down to nuclear attacks, everyone's pretty much fucked. I'm trying to be optimistic and I still hope that people will be able to change before all hell breaks loose. I, myself, am working in the media/film field and I know how many people are eager to create something different, something that sends a different message from the propaganda we're usually stuck with but we either do it outside of the main projects as a hobby or we don't. Everyone can contribute to creating a better society, no matter what he's doing but someone has to wake people up first.

The Arabs, being extremely dangerous with huge armies and advanced technology is but an urban myth. We owe that to well thought out propaganda. Have you noticed how many films there are out there, that tackle the subject of nuclear weapons being used in terrorist attacks? It's designed to scare people and it does its job pretty well.

Truth is, in an all-out war, the Arab countries will be obliterated in no time and if it wasn't for the UN and its peace policies, Russians and Americans would have taken a huge bite off the mid-east already. Private corporations who practically own the west do not like it that they can't control Islamic countries through peaceful means and sooner or later, their front men (government officials on all levels) will make a move which is only going to stir up more trouble.

In the end, the average man holds no sway over what's happening and subconsciously, people understand it. This results in escapism, manifesting itself in all possible shapes and forms- celebrity and sports worship, the so-called "reality mentality", drugs, alcohol and so forth. It seems, nowadays, the dumbing down of society generation by generation in all major world powers is merely the dish they ordered and it pisses me off. I mean, seriously, the media's got more influence than most governments out there and who do you think owns all mainstream media? Corporations. Al Gore lied about global warming, got people scared and scientists have been trying for years to make people realise it's a fraud and they still haven't succeeded in convincing even a tiny fraction of society as it is... It's just sickening.

It all goes down to what you were raised to believe. As a kid, you're exceptionally susceptible to brainwashing, so these people are not even considering the possibility of their actions being absolutely outrageous. According to our point of view, they're savages but imagine yourself growing up in e.g. Saudi Arabia. Even if you come to realise this is plain wrong, they'll most likely stone you to death. It's the same with North Koreans, the Evangelical and Baptist churches in the US and similar organizations all over the world.

Just watch Jesus Camp- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOqGhcwwE1s and you'll know what I mean. This documentary is downright scary.

Unfortunately, the damage that has been done is irreversible and the only way to correct such detrimental behaviour in future generations is:

a. War (or any form of violence)
b. Radical change (highly unlikely)

The West failed to civilize the Muslim emigrants through peaceful means, so what's left for the fundamentalists living in the mid-east... No matter how you look at it, our future is pretty gloomy.

I'm sorry for the wall of text.

I honestly don't know what to say... There's nothing I hate more than physical or sexual abuse of power. No one deserves to be treated like this except for the animals who did the stoning. The sad thing is that there are thousands of women who share a similar faith, some beaten to death with hammers, some buried alive...

I try not to dwell on it, because my hope in humanity is rather faint as it is. The only thing that gives me comfort is that I have the power to make a difference as little as it might be. A single individual might not be able to do much on a global scale, but society as a whole can, so long there are responsible people who are not afraid to stand up for those in need.
