MineCraft
Created 14th September 2011 00:39

Hello there,

I've been wondering how many of you, people of GosuGamers, e-sports fans and probably huge gaming in general enthusiasts, play MineCraft. I play this game for three months, don't have much time for that but I do. And actually, for the last couple of days, I can't stop thinking about it due to the upcoming 1.8 update.

And for those of you who play MineCraft I must say that it's pretty annoying and sad how the developer aka Notch keeps delaying the release and that he decided to remove a couple of things that he promised to implement or things that have been already existing in the game. Although, I hope I will be positively surprised when I will launch MineCraft 1.8 for the first time. There's still a chance for that.

Thanks for reading and have a nice day!

Draco plays StarCraft II
Created 20th February 2010 00:16 (Updated: 20th February 2010 00:20)

Believe me or not but I just met Draco in StarCraft II beta game. Well, I'm not sure if it was him but I also have no reason to think other way. He was Polish, that's for sure. ^^

The game itself was nothing special. He made a lot of Stalkers and I made an army of Zealots plus two Void Rays for the harassment purposes. I thought I have that game but Draco managed to turn me into ashes.
Here's the replay: download

How about you? Have you met somebody well-known in the community while playing StarCraft II beta already?

Playing StarCraft II
Created 19th February 2010 10:50 (Updated: 19th February 2010 16:03)

Yesterday I have been playing StarCraft II beta for about 6 hours and I would like to share my thoughts on this game with you.

Downloading the client took me about 2 hours. Good that I have Comedy Central, that made the waiting a lot easier. Browsing GosuGamers pages in the search for the new facts is also a good option when you hunger for StarCraft II, it always is. The installation process is approximately a 10 minutes deal. Everything is cool, everything is smooth.

When I double-clicked on the SCII icon for the first time I was excited as a kid at Christmas. It doesn't happen to me that often. Almost three years of waiting must have put their stamp on me, I guess.

The first thing that hit me positively was the music, which is fantastic. The song that followed me while I was in the menus reminds me of the song from Fallout 2, which play when you sit down behind the wheel of your car to hit the wastelands. Nice! The in-game music is also great, no doubts about that.

I also must say that I like the menus and all the options that can be found there. You can chat with your friends and all this stuff, you can check your statistics, customize profile and so on. Pretty nice. The tab with achievements is blocked in the beta but I believe that it will be a lot of fun to work on them. It all creates really social atmosphere which is good. I’m not sure which way will all these things go, I don't know all of the options that will be introduced with the game release, but I have a feeling that we will all care about our profiles and try to make them look better. "Pimp my profile!". (In Theaters In 2010, lol)

The game itself is great. I was afraid a little bit that it will not meet my expectations in all aspect but I was wrong. It's not WarCraft 3, I didn't experience any similarities, especially in the aspect of mechanics. StarCraft II is a new game that combine both Broodwar solutions and something totally new. But the spirit of Broodwar is clear and almost touchable and I don't mind that to be honest. It's obvious that Blizzard couldn't give us the same thing, it's also obvious that we couldn't get something absolutely new which would break the connection between the StarCraft worlds. I think we get something that aims for the golden mean with the twist to the old times side.

The old strategies seem to work also in StarCraft II. The moment I realized that was the moment when playing became easier and more successful.

I'm not any kind of an expert but I deeply believe that StarCraft II will be at least that competitive game as StarCraft Broodwar is, or even more. StarCraft II will be the game for the next decade.

End of transmission.

SC2 excitement
Created 18th February 2010 10:37

Thursday, February the 18th, 4:38 a.m. CET. I received an e-mail from Blizzard, an e-mail that says: "StarCraft® II: Wings of Liberty™ Beta Test Invitation". After all this waiting, there's only one thing that I can say: "Hell, it's about time!". I said it, finally!^^

Unfortunately, I cannot start playing. I received my invitation while I was sleeping and now I sit at work. How cruel is that? I need to wait a few hours more before I can start drowning in the new StarCraft world. In many ways the waiting that I experience right now is much more worse than the waiting for all those years.

Here's a pic that shows my battle.net account. :D

---------------------------------------------

Update 7

Because of personal matters I had to left the event even earlier than I planned. Here are two photos I was able to shoot before my camera died:

Entrance to the press room

One of the stages, I would call it "promotion stage" (see: update 3).

----------------------------------------------

Update 6

Wow! Draco won vs ZZZero 2:1. The last game was extremly intense, both players were mined out after about an hour. At the end ZZZero had a lot of ultralisks and some defilers, Draco a lot of Archons and a few Dark Archons. Well, I have to say that in my opinon Draco found perfect way to counter dark swarm. He mealstormed almost everything! No... he mealstormed everything! GG and a handshake, it was a very nice thing to see.

-----------------------------------------------

Update 5

From what I heard the stream is not working. Well, I was there so I can tell you what is up. Draco is still playing his third game vs ZZZero for a good while now but nobody knows who's going to win. Great storms, good reaver drops and a lot of dark swarms.
While Draco and ZZZero are in their game GOsia and Tarson are chilling around and/or obsing the game behind ZZZero's back.

------------------------------------------------

Update 4

StarCraft players are playing on the upper scene which is closed for the publicity now. Of course I was there. Draco seem to be very concentrated, he's sitting in the corner of the long room. Commentator has a pretty hard job there because a lot of people who are able to enter the press room are standing behind his back

-------------------------------------------------

Update 3

Nothing really important is going on for a while now. Organizers are giving aways some small prizes, people who came can "grab" or win a few small things and I guess that players are preparing for their next matches.

--------------------------------------------------

Update 2

Unfortunately after taking a few photos my camera run out of energy... It's all because I was very busy today with something else and I just simply forgot. I'll make sure to be better prepared tomorrow.

WarCraft players are fighting at the moment. I'm not interested in the WarCraft scene so I have no idea what's going on. Although there are a lot of screens everywhere, even in the press room so it's very easy to follow the tourney.

---------------------------------------------------

Update 1

Ok, finally I'm here. The place is nice, I got everything I need. Organizers gave me laptop and an access to all places. Atmosphere is very good, you can feel e-sport in the air. I'm here for about 10 minutes and I already saw Draco and GOsia. There are about 100-200 people here but we are on the highest level of the mall so probably there will be more when something interesting happens.

----------------------------------------------------

Stay tuned!
