It has been 3 months since GigaLiga hosted their last GrandSlam. Now into its 6th season the GrandSlam is getting more popular as 
Mondragon has won three GrandSlam titles.

This season's prizes are as always something worth competing for. 2000€ will go to the winner of the GrandSlam, 1000€ worth of hardware to the runner-up, and 500€ worth of hardware to the 2nd runner-up.
For 2 months players all across the German based nations play to see who will be one the top 12 who will advance into group stage. But, before this GigaLiga has to find out which games are most popular. They hold tournaments for a number of different games to find out which ones will bring the most participants and show the most interest. This season, like the past few seasons, StarCraft: Brood War has been chosen.

12 players have been placed into two groups of 6. They will than play one other player in their group once a day. So over the course of 5 days the players will be playing one another. After they play one another once, the top 4 players will advance into the tournament stage. On December 10th, the final two players will meet in
Düsseldorf, Germany to play for the top prize of 2000€, and to see who the best really is.Well the players are now into their 3rd playday and things have been quite interesting actually. Group A is being manhandled by

With only two more playdays left there is not much time to screw around in this round robin stage. This stage will finish up this upcoming Friday. From there on November 28th and 29th the Quarter Finals will commence. December 1st will hold both of the Half Finals games. While on December 5th the match for 3rd place will be played. And as already mentioned the off-line finale will take place on the 10th of December.
