I was specifically pointing out to a blatant lie by EGAlex which he presented as a fact. You can scrutinize the poll results, but you cant claim for sure that out of those 14k people who voted in favor of NaNi are Swedes for the most part, just like I can't prove that they aren't.

In their official statement regarding NaNiwa's case, GOMtv admitted that NaNi didn't break any written rule, but he got punished for bad sportsmanship, or something along those lines. If you wanna read it for yourself, you can go to their official website, there should be a link on the main page.

Woah, take a step back please; 'real threat'? Those are strong words; although I agree with you on some levels, I can hardly assert that gom is the real culprit here.

You're missing the point that, without buying tickets or any sort of purchase, the eSports scene cannot grow. Stop comparing it to major sports such as football, where first of all, theres a huge audience, and secondly, results have much more serious implications meaning that money is lavishly used for the scene.

Regarding the Naniwa incident, objectively both parties have made mistakes. Naniwa for being unsportsmanlike; not necessarily unprofessional, since he did not break any rules. The step taken by gom is harsh, but they needed to make a stance and this is what they decided to do and we need to respect it.

People need to realize that if GOM didnt do anything about this incident, we would have pro's throwing their games as soon as they didnt have some price to claim. I dont even play that much SC2, but i love watching it at a professional level and if games like Naniwa vs. NesTea would become "normal" i would probably lose interest quite fast.

What makes SC2 into such a successful game eSports-wise? I can answer that for you... its the fact that people who does not even play the game enjoy watching pro games and can spend hours and hours just watching shoutcasts or VODs.

Also, why would GOM keep a player who does not care about the fans in their league, there is no rule saying they cant kick any1 they want out of the league... GOM IS GIVING MONEY, FAME AND AWESOME EXPERIANCES TO PLAYERS, if you cant even sit through 15 minutes of "not having any price to play for" in return for that then you might aswell just dig a hole and crawl up in it.

If you give your kid a toy and he cries about the fact that he didnt get two toys, then you take his toy away untill he reconsiders and wants the one toy.

Naniwa acted like a little kid and got treated like such, GOM didnt do anything wrong, people who buy GOM tickets are not "the reason esports is dying" and Naniwa is very much not the victim here.

So wouldnt it just make sence to design leagues where matches like this dont even need to happen ? most players wont play seriously, anyhow if the games are pointless since there are tuns of leagues going on and revealing your current play style for nothing would be a huge waste of time. Would it be cool if NEstea just 6 pooled 2 games in a row? is that a viable enuf strat for you ?
