Terrans outside Korea (2471 reads, 9 replies, 5 months ago)
hmm why they are having so hard time outside Korea? only terrans i can recall are ThorZain ,Select and BratOK ,even then Select is korean .we had so many good terrans such as lucifron and demuslim ( morrow also whn he played ) but now lucifron and demuslim dont play that much and Morrow switched his race .why is terran lagging behind in foreign scene? btw would like to mention some really underrated terrans such as Tarson and cloud mb.but still terrnas sucks in foreng scene

Morrow switched to Zerg ages ago.

The truth is, Terran is struggling bigtime vs Protoss at those high levels. And it's gradually showing in tournament events like Dreamhack.

Protoss are a little too buffed atm with the last patch. Those timings on the cheaper upgrades makes it a little too easy to dominate both Terrans and Zerg. I guess Terran suffers the most (even tho they deserve it a little).

#2 loled, the timing didn't affect the overall gameplay at all. The only changes were at lvl 2 grades for weapon and armor, and the upgrades for shield cost were definitly way too high, which is why Blizzard made them cheaper.

just because there was FINALLY a close (!!) win for a Protoss - dreamhack - in a tournament, it doesn't mean that the matchup is now favoured for Protoss. Not at all. Almost every other tournament (and correct me if i am wrong) were taken by Terrans and Zergs, besides HSC3 and DH by HuK.

I've still Problems dealing with Terrans lategame mass ghosts + viking DPS ball - plus the fact that Protoss has no opportunity scouting wise in the early game in every matchup

All in all i've to say the game is really good balanced (more than WC3 ever will be), it's just that timings and build orders play a huge role in SC2 .

Terran requires much more understanding of mechanics to be succesful with, whereas the z/p counterparts do have SOME things (whereas P has ALOT) they can just constantly abuse over and over even if the player isn't that good.

therefore the lazy foreigners fall behind ~

this is just so fail... so because of protoss foreign terrans struggle? , dont know where are u getting that fail facts from dreamhack? yes one tourney is enough and thats even bcs of finals only .... Demuslim ,happy and some other good terrans just check their tvp atleast in ladders if u can, i bet its over 80% and once and for all stop generalizing your personel weak matchup on everyone including pros thats just stupidty sorry for bad english and if u feel offended

Top players usually play players worse than themselves on the ladder. You cant judge the matchup based on that.

Not denying the insignificance of the forge upgrade buffs numerically, but you can't deny that the popularity of double forge play has skyrocketed since the patch and it's results are showing.

european terran: Open reactor hellion -> get 6 helions and move them in and try to kill worker -> lose mapcontrol -> followup with the ~20marine 3 tank push at 10mins -> lose units with too little damage cuz they lost their hellions earlyon -> after push make 3rd and turtle up -> lose

korean terran: open reactor hellion -> deny creep / get mapcontrol -> transition into whatever -> keep pressure and macro behind

Overall: european terran just do units and push out, korean terrans try to keep the pressure and have crazy multitask that keeps them up in macro
