What is he doing? (1738 reads, 4 replies, 6 months ago)
Hi, guys! This is my first post so here is my first noob question: What is he doing? I know that a start must have a lot of details but why in this videos Boxer keep selecting all the workers, the command center, the workers, the command center, etc...? He has two SCV waiting to be created. Why is he doing so much clicks and stuff? I know this gives him a certain APM, but I'm not asking that. I wanna know, specifficaly, wich actions is he developing.

Thank you very much!

It just gets your fingers going at the start of the game.
Oh and it does not count towards your apm after 1.4.1 patch.
Some people cycle through hotkeys some people select and deselect.
Doesn't mean much.

They improved the way the game counts APM, so it doesn't get inflated by spam actions.

Somewhere along the way, they've nerfed the hell out of the ais also, because the computer no longer re-evaluates it's actions except maybe once every 20 or 30 seconds...Ok, irrelevant, sorry, but the computer used to max at 4k APM, and now its a couple hundred...

APM doesn't mean everything anyway.

A new team mate and I just beat a Masters 2v2 protoss team on 20 APM; no joke. Don't know what the deal was, think they took us lightly and paid the price for it.

I've always said that if players would quit doing useless crap like spamming keys, and just play the game, they'd be better served. If you're spamming keys then you mustn't be concentrating on what you're supposed to be doing, so you must be playing less than 100%. It's a waste of talent.
