You obviously didnt watch the games close enough. Rewatch the first game, and you will see that it clearly is NOT a coinflip at all. Idra defends the constant contaminate/roach harass poorly. First he blunders, and allows the roaches to walk up his ramp, giving zenio a numbers advantage. Secondly, he chooses to move down his ramp, and take his 3rd base while zenio is powering off 2 base. This is NOT a coinflip. It is 2 errors that lead to idras loss in the first game. If you cannot acknowledge that, then you are clueless about sc2 and should refrain from making anymore stupid posts.

My point was that, generally, zvz is largely based on luck. The match itself is quite broken at this point. That's all. And if YOU can't acknowledge that you are probably ignorant. No need to worry, ignorance is bliss.

Hmm. Idra may have lost and he may be a complete douche.

But there is no doubt that he can beat every single player out there. The difference between foreigners and koreans is very small indeed. It is purely because yeah, SC2 is easymode compare to Brood War. but of course it doesnt mean it is easy.

Just look at Boxer. As much as a legend this guy is, he would have his ass handed to him by top foreigners in Brood War in the last few years, as he did actually. The guy has now reached the semis in GSL. I would say the koreans are ahead numerically (meaning that they have more pros than the West). But the skill level is pretty much the same.

And his point is that "the general ZvZ luck factor" did not have much to do with IdrA's games since he made these mistakes to give his opponent the advantage.

#103 i would agree if the americans didn't get assraped at blizzcon.

huk and select were hyped to be top 10 foreigners and they were fucking raped like noobs.

that sorta made me question idra's skill, considering how people think he's good at zerg vs protoss/terran because he was regularly beating these 3rd rate players.

until one of the foreigners beats a top 10 korean in gsl (fruitdealer, hopetorture, genius, boxer, foxer, nestea etc) then you can't rlly say that the foreigners are at the same level.

I am not a fan of HuK nor of SeleCT, but they certainly are not 3rd rate players. And people don't think that Idra is good because of that. You would know that if you had a little insight about the game and watched few of his games.

The point is that the gap between foreigners and Koreans is not still that huge. Sure, Koreans have slight advantage because they are more experienced and tend to practice more, which will pay-off in the long run. But saying that they are dominating at the moment and there are no foreigners that can compete with them is just ridiculously stupid. The game is still very young for such generalizations. Hopefully, we are going to see more and more foreigners go to Korea and prove you wrong.

At this stage of the game, going to Korea doesnt prove anything.

People need to remember how exactly Idra went to Korea in the first place (USA exclusive tournament). If it was a Europe, North, South America tour I highly highly doubt Idra would be in Korea right now. Heck, include the Canadians and Idra would have been out IMO.

He is a lucky boy being there, it just so happened that SC2 was the game for him, not Brood War.

No joke.

Idra moved to Korea in early 2008 to become a progamer in Brood War with eStro. In the end he ended up in CJ Entus. The tournament that he won (late 2007) was USA-only, with the winner propositioned to move to Korea.

Before moving to Korea he wasnt even in the top 20 foreigners. Maybe even lower.

You SHOULD really look up what does irony mean. Apart from this, saying that Idra is JUST lucky is . I guess, this is not the place for such discussion.

I said he is lucky to be in Korea considering the USA-only tour. His SC2 skills are a different topic.

You clearly dont know the past.
