MLG: Are you pleased with the way the patch is working out so far?

Idra: Yes, definitely. I believe ZvT is pretty close to balanced right now—it's actually going to seem Z>T for a while as bad Terrans disappear and the remaining ones have to adapt to a new style of play. ZvP is certainly much better, but I'm waiting for the matchup to settle into the new patch before making any real comment on it. My only real complaint is that they still haven't addressed ZvZ, but the matchup is slowly making progress on its own so patching might be unnecessary in the long run.

Idra says that you are a bad player.

We all know that idra is that kind of guy that runs out of his house in underwear with a red flag every time shit isnt going his way... He's not a bad player thats for sure and has wicked skills, but if i want a fair opinion i rather listen to other pros - no offence.

I agree with Flex. I highly value the opinions of the pros because they are the ones playing the game the best. I dont value Idra's opinion because he only cares about what will benefit him not all of Sc.

So was the TvZ imbalance purely because of reapers then? Certainly seems like that.

I ask because I never use them.

It seems to me that since reapers were effectively made redundant and barracks (sigh) was put after a supply depot, Zerg can massively macro now to like 30 pop with very little chance of an attack. I mean...the depot is usually made at 9 or 10 pop, then by the time the barracks is made it is 15 pop for the orbital command, so the 1st marine(or bunker even, which was also nerfed) is made at like 16 pop. 1 marine cant do shit so we are indeed looking at a 25-30 pop "safe" ground for zerg to non stop pump drones + the 2 queens (depending on the map and distances of course). This doesnt seem right to me.

I hate to compare this to brood war as they are very different but I need to. In Brood war, yeah the Zerg could pump drones non stop to 30 pop, but the quickly available medic made a sunken-bust a serious threat. So he needed sunkens (expensive) and HAD to get lair tech units (again expensive and very open to attacks). The Zerg could not hope to win or defend Terran with hatchery units, period. In SC2 however, roaches and banelings can be made available very easy...

Conclusion: Reaper was overnerfed...

no one ever try to fix a lil up protoss, i mean its so hard tvp for a protoss, and T its like sitting in a chair chilling, not that saying terran are imba against toss, but there are certain part when i feel need minor tweaks to some units, cough , cough marauder.

Lets just say the barack/supply nerf was totally unnessecary, reaper build time was enough and fixed the problem.

You know what, I do believe that Zerg players actually grew very strong coping with the hard times they had before the latest patch, so we have a lot of very strong Zerg players these days.

I feel confident now when I play against a T, something I couldn't do before the patch.

I also think that after Zergs has been pushed around lately and now just a little tiny patch makes up for all that. I am very happy atm with the balance issues. I can't really put my finger on anything.

Probably the other way around. Reaper nerf wasn't necessary, but the Barrack was in my opinion. Reaper nerf was actually the cause why reapers are bad and never used now, and supply before Barrack only reduce your options for all-in and cheese by little bit.

Also, about PvT case, FruitDealer and other Pros wouldn't agree with you.

Champignones where did u get the info of Protoss having a hard time and terran chilling?

from the getgo the P has better units and if the terran does not harass hes always gonna be at the worst kind of situation, while the toss can just 3gate robo into expansion and dont have to worry at all most of the time, and we should not forget the so easy to do 4gate that wins almost all games for P

I was not going to answer in this thread but Maven here made me have to...

There is NOTHING easier in this game than making baracks, making marauders and attackmove ur way to top diamond league.

Even if toss is expecting alot of marauders every game, every game is still going to be hard seeing as how that unit is retardedly overpowered all the way through the game, even lategame...

BTW i am a Terran player since a few months back, for the obvious reason =)

You do realise that if they didnt nerf the build time and only did the barack nerf if would basicly have the same outcome for the reaper right? Think about it.

Btw, Fruitdealer is a zerg and yes the general opionion amongs the pros seem to be that TvP is the most balanced matchup.

One more thing, i cant imagine any pre SCBW players complain about all-in and cheese, it should be a part of the game.
