HI all:

Right now I have a bit of a choice over PvT. When facing a ground army of Terran composed by mainly marines, maruders and maybe 2 tanks and 1 thor, with 6-7 medivacs. What is more efficient for protoss to use, HT with storm or Colossus?

At first, I felt colossus is very strong and easy to control, just micro it like dragoons, hit and back out, which will rape terran ground. However, as I get higher ranks, the micro ability of terran gets higher, they micro their vikings very well and my collosus cannot even counter them since it has no anti-air.

And my friend recommended me to use HT vs Terran just like SCI use them vs Hydras.

I tried a two way tech, with both units, then I realized in mid-game I have no gas for that tech tree, so I failed miserably.

So I wonder, how do you choose between HT or Collossus? Terran has scan so he can know your tech tree and have the right counter, so how do u decide on which unit to invest on?

Tech to collosi first. When you see vikings, go HTs. If the decreases his viking count, switch back to Collosi. If he uses ghosts, decrease HT count and increase Collosi.

If he has both ghosts and Vikings, his overall ground DPS will decrease. So increase your zealot count.

Mass charged lots with HT and sentries work somewhat well againt terran.

I agree with goose, tech to Colossus and have an observer to keep check of opponent so you'd know whether to pump out the HTs.

Flex-
Only the reason to get observers are nessesery at start you should start with colossus
